Nekki, a renowned game development studio behind titles like Shadow Fight 4: Arena, Shadow Fight 3, Shadow Fight 2, and Vector, is seeking a Layout Artist for their leading project, SPINE. SPINE is a story-driven action movie game featuring extensive cinematic cut-scenes, from action sequences to dialogue and character interactions. The Layout Artist will be crucial in shaping the cinematic look of scenes, crafting camera movements, maintaining composition, and ensuring narrative visual cohesion, working collaboratively with directors, writers, 2D layout artists, animators, and game designers.
Good To Have:

Nekki is a game development studio, the creator of Shadow Fight 4: Arena,Shadow Fight 3Shadow Fight 2 and Vector. The total number of registered users for our games exceeds 1 billion worldwide. We develop and release games for PC, consoles, and mobile platforms.

 

Currently, we are looking for a Layout Artist for one of the studio’s leading projects – SPINE.

 

SPINE is a story-driven action movie with lots of cinematic cut-scenes, from chases, gunfights and hand-to-hand combat to in-depth dialog, emotional interactions and character experiences.

 

In order to achieve the right level of cinematic language and visual style, we are looking for an expert in camera work for 3D scenes. This role involves working closely with directors, writers, 2D layout artist, animators and game designers.

 

Your job is to shape the cinematic look of scenes, build camera movement, maintain composition, and ensure the visual cohesion of the narrative.

Responsibilities:

  • Setting up complex camera paths in a 3d scene
  • Preparing cameras/assets and blocking scenes
  • Organization skills and ability to create neat scenes for further use in pipeline

Requirements:

  • In-depth knowledge of Maya, excellent problem-solving
  • Strong skills and a good understanding of the animation and film production pipeline
  • Good working knowledge of cinematography in a virtual environment
  • Experience setting up scenes according to a previs or storyboard
  • Understanding of real camera work, shooting techniques, photo and/or film lenses
  • Excellent technical problem-solving skills
  • Attention to detail and proactive approach to identifying and fixing problems
  • Experience with scene and frame composition
  • Ability to take direction and feedback from supervisor
