Job Description

Electronic Arts is seeking a Level Artist for their EA Create APAC studio in Shanghai, China. This role involves delivering the final visual of multiplayer maps for an EA franchise, from concept to polish. The artist will brainstorm, pitch, prove concepts, and execute on delivery, ensuring alignment with game design and maintaining AAA quality. Responsibilities include proactive communication with stakeholders, identifying risks, incorporating feedback, and providing constructive input within a multidisciplinary team.
Must Have:
  • Deliver the final visual of MP maps for an EA franchise
  • Brainstorm and pitch the direction
  • Prove the concept and execute on the delivery
  • Communicate closely with project leadership and craft leadership
  • Bring levels through every phase of development from concept to polish
  • Proactively communicate with all stakeholders
  • Identify and address potential risks, dependencies & constraints related to level design
  • Incorporate feedback from research and playtest data
  • Provide and solicit feedback in a graceful, constructive manner
  • Shipped at least one AAA title
  • 3+ years experience in level art
  • Experience in multiplayer shooter games as a level artist and/or an avid player
  • Strong layout and environment creation skills
  • Familiarity with advanced game engine
  • Work with partners to implement upon a vision
  • Interest in the environmental aesthetics
  • Break down tasks and work with production to produce estimates and priorities
  • Work well in a multidisciplinary team

Roles and responsibilities:

You will deliver the final visual of MP maps for an EA franchise.

Working with the team, you will brainstorm and pitch the direction, prove the concept and execute on the delivery. You are responsible for the making the commitment and completing the commitment.

You will communicate closely with project leadership and craft leadership, to make sure we are always aligned with game design of the overall product.

You will report to APAC studio leadership.

  • Bring levels through every phase of development from concept to polish
  • Proactively communicate with all stakeholders to ensure a high quality of work
  • Identify and address potential risks, dependencies & constraints related to level design with other departments while maintaining AAA quality
  • Incorporate feedback from research and playtest data to achieve an excellent multiplayer experience
  • Provide and solicit feedback in a graceful, constructive manner, with suggestions and solutions for improvement to the game editor, processes and project

Qualifications

You shipped at least one AAA title, have 3+ years experience in level art and:

  • Experience in multiplayer shooter games as a level artist and/or an avid player
  • Strong layout and environment creation skills
  • Familiarity with advanced game engine
  • Work with partners to implement upon a vision
  • Interest in the environmental aesthetics
  • Break down tasks and work with production to produce estimates and priorities.
  • Work well in a multidisciplinary team, spanning artists, programmers, and designers.
