Job Summary
Squeeze is looking for a Lighting Artist. The chosen candidate will be responsible for lighting key shots, ensuring the highest quality for each shot. The role involves developing lighting for sequences and key shots, propagating light rigs, ensuring lighting matches the director's vision, establishing necessary render passes for compositing, optimizing work techniques for efficiency, and collaborating with the compositing department to create quality visuals. This is a short contract from January 12 to January 26, 2026.
Must Have
- Develop lighting for sequences and key shots and propagate light rigs
- Ensure lighting matches the vision defined by the director
- Establish necessary render passes for compositing
- Optimize work techniques and develop methodologies to make production more efficient
- Work collaboratively with the compositing department to develop quality visuals
- At least 5 years of experience in lighting in the 3D animation film industry
- Excellent command of Redshift and Maya software
- Excellent understanding of light, color palette management, contrasts, and graphic composition

Job Description
Your Mandate
Squeeze is looking for a Lighting Artist. The chosen candidate will be responsible for lighting key shots. Their choices will be dictated by a constant concern to achieve the highest level of quality for each shot.
The workplace is at the person's choice (on-site, hybrid, or remote from the province of Quebec). The person must have the right to work in Canada (Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or holder of an open work permit).
This is a short contract from January 12 to January 26, 2026.
Your Main Responsibilities
- Develop lighting for sequences and key shots and propagate "light rigs";
- Ensure that the lighting matches the vision defined by the director;
- Establish the necessary render passes for compositing;
- Optimize work techniques and develop methodologies to make production more efficient;
- Work collaboratively with the compositing department to develop quality visuals.

- Relevant college (DEC/AEC) and/or university education (3D animation, multimedia, etc.);
- Excellent command of Redshift and Maya software;
- An excellent understanding of light, color palette management, contrasts, and graphic composition;
- Knowledge of Katana, Nuke, and Arnold, an asset;
- Knowledge of Python language and scripting capabilities, an asset.
