Job Summary
Squeeze is looking for a talented Senior DMP artist to join our creative team. As a DMP artist, you will be responsible for building virtual landscapes, sets, and environments. This is a short-term contract from January 12 to 23, 2026. You will participate in pre-production meetings, understand the artistic vision, research visual references, develop concepts, create stylized matte paintings, and collaborate with the production team, while staying updated on technological advancements.
Must Have
- Build virtual landscapes, sets, and environments
- Create stylized matte paintings and set elements
- Proficiency in digital painting software like Photoshop
- Knowledge of 3D software for integration
- Experience in animation or similar production
- Strong ability to creatively analyze and solve visual and technical problems
- In-depth knowledge of composition, lighting, perspective, and artistic design principles
- Good knowledge of Maya and Nuke software
- Programming and tool creation skills with Python
- Stylized portfolio for animation

YOUR MANDATE
Squeeze is looking for a talented Senior DMP artist to join our creative team. As a DMP artist, you will be responsible for building landscapes, sets, and virtual environments.
The workplace is at the person's choice (on-site, hybrid, or remote from the province of Quebec). The person must have the right to work in Canada (Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or holder of an open work permit).
This is a short contract from January 12 to 23, 2026.
YOUR MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
- Participate in pre-production meetings and exchange creative ideas;
- Understand the artistic vision of the director, artistic director, or creative director;
- Research visual references;
- Develop artistic concepts;
- Create stylized matte paintings and set elements;
- Collaborate with the production team (FX supervisor, lighting artists, compositing artists, shader artists, etc.);
- Report creative or technical issues;
- Meet deadlines and deliver expected quality;
- Build a reference library;
- Work with Nuke for 2D and 2.5 projection;
- Work with Maya for set dressing;
- Stay updated on technological advancements and innovations.

- Demonstrated experience as a matte painter with a solid mastery of digital painting software such as Photoshop, as well as knowledge of 3D software for seamless integration;
- Previous experience in animation or similar production;
- A strong ability to creatively analyze and solve visual and technical problems;
- A varied and impressive portfolio of matte painting work demonstrating a range of styles and technical skills;
- In-depth knowledge of composition, lighting, perspective, and artistic design principles;
- Good knowledge of Maya and Nuke software;
- Programming and tool creation skills with Python;
- A stylized portfolio for animation.
