Department Overview
Our Applied Technology organization puts some of Motorola Solutions' brightest minds on unique, highly challenging projects. Job Description
The Manufacturing Process Technician plays a vital role in the manufacturing and production of electronics, ensuring processes run smoothly and safely. They monitor, maintain, program and operate equipment, maintain processes, conduct tests, and ensure adherence to safety and quality standards.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Performs technical functions in support of both production and engineering activities including electronics manufacturing, SMT automated assembly and process documentation.
- Works from drawings, material specifications, diagrams, written and verbal instructions.
- Conducts engineering tests to collect design data or assist in general research work.
- Diagnoses and isolates material, equipment and system malfunctions.
- Performs mechanical assembly per written and verbal instruction of production and prototype units.
- Monitors and maintains Electo Static Discharge controls in factory
- Recommends changes in installation or process specifications to simplify assembly and maintenance.
- Contributing to optimizing yield, performance, and cost-effectiveness of the process.
- Maintains production records through use of production control software and defined process documentation.
- Contribute to team effort by performing other tasks as appropriate and/or necessary.
- Interest in production control and process tracking software a plus.
- Experience in assembly of electronic assemblies a plus.
- Experience in scripting automated processes, e.g. Python, Labview, etc a plus.
- Ability to follow and read work instructions, prints, schematics, drawings, etc.
- Hands-on problem solving style.
- Verbal communication and writing skills.
- Self-motivated and self-directed
- Comfortable working in a team environment
- Sit and/or stand at workbenches/workstations, perform computer tasks and paperwork, sometimes for extended periods of time.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
Basic Requirements
- 2 Year technical degree or 4 years of demonstrated relevant experience.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain necessary security clearance as required by government contract.
