Job Description

JMA is seeking a Technician II or III - Sheet Metal Fabricator to join their team in Liverpool, NY. This role involves operating various sheet metal machinery, making quality parts per engineering specifications, and collaborating with team members. The ideal candidate will have 4+ years of experience in metal fabricating or machining, strong mechanical aptitude, and computer skills in Solid Works, Trumpf TruTopsSoftware, and Microsoft Office. The position is full-time and on-site, contributing to the development of industry-leading products and technologies.

Must Have:
  • All aspects of Shop Safety
  • Collaborate and communicate effectively with team members
  • Setup and operate various machinery including Trumpf TruPunch 3000, Trumpf TruBend V130, Hager PEM 824 PEM Inserter, Lissmac SMW 533 Deburring Machine, National 4 Ft. Hydraulic Shear
  • Make quality sheet metal parts per engineering specifications
  • Comfortable supporting a flexible workforce between the Sheet Metal Shop and the Model Shop for rapid prototyping
  • Provide DFM input back to the engineering team
  • Perform general maintenance on the equipment
  • 4+ years working in a metal fabricating and/or machining environment
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and comfortable working on and around machinery
  • Computer skills; Solid Works, Trumpf TruTopsSoftware, Microsoft Office
  • Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications
  • Ability to use various precision measuring tools and gauges to conduct quality checks
  • Willingness to learn and apply new technology

The Technician II or III - Sheet Metal Fabrication will be based out of our Liverpool, NY location and regularly scheduled shift will be Mondays-Fridays from 7 am - 3:30 pm eastern. Technician Level II or III will be assigned based on qualifications of the candidate.

Responsibilities

  • All aspects of Shop Safety
  • Collaborate and communicate effectively with team members to ensure a thorough understanding of what is required
  • Setup and operate various machinery in the shop including Trumpf TruPunch 3000, Trumpf TruBend V130, Hager PEM 824 PEM Inserter, Lissmac SMW 533 Deburring Machine, National 4 Ft. Hydraulic Shear, and various other shop equipment.
  • Make quality sheet metal parts per engineering specifications that supports the development of industry leading products and technologies
  • Comfortable supporting a flexible workforce between the Sheet Metal Shop and the Model Shop for the rapid prototyping of parts
  • Provide DFM input back to the engineering team
  • Perform general maintenance on the equipment

Qualifications

  • 4+ years working in a metal fabricating and/or machining environment
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and comfortable working on and around machinery
  • Computer skills; Solid Works, Trumpf TruTopsSoftware, Microsoft Office
  • Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications to determine metal fabrication process and requirements.
  • Ability to use various precision measuring tools and gauges to conduct quality checks that ensure finished products meet the required standards and specifications.
  • Willingness to learn and apply new technology
  • Ability to program Trumpf machines independently is a plus

$24 - $30 an hour

The US national hourly rate for this is $24 - $30 per hour. The hourly range includes is expected to be paid for this role. Actual hourly rate will be based on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, the scope and complexity of the role, the successful candidate's relevant experience, skills, and knowledge, peer and market data, and geographic location.
