Job Summary

The Operations Manager AI & Automation will lead the daily operations of the AI team, managing HR responsibilities, talent development, and fostering a collaborative team culture. This role involves overseeing project planning, sprint execution, and ensuring delivery commitments are met through proactive risk management. The manager will also ensure adherence to enterprise processes, optimize workflows, and serve as a central communication point for project status and escalations, aligning operational plans with strategic priorities.

Must Have

  • Lead the daily operations of the AI team, including team meetings, workflows, and communication.
  • Manage HR responsibilities such as performance reviews, talent development, coaching, and hiring.
  • Oversee project planning, sprint execution, backlog management, and work prioritization.
  • Ensure delivery commitments are met through clear roles, resource alignment, and proactive risk management.
  • Ensure the team adheres to enterprise processes, standards, and governance (security, compliance, risk, data management, etc.).
  • Coordinate cross-functional dependencies, including work involving IT, Security, Data, and business partners.
  • Optimize team workflows, documentation, and operating models to increase predictability and efficiency.
  • Serve as a central communication point for project status, risks, and escalations across the organization.
  • Bachelor’s degree Computer Science, Information Technology, Management, or related field.
  • 6+ years of experience in project/program management, operations leadership, or technology team management.
  • Proven experience managing delivery in Agile, DevOps, or hybrid environments.
  • Strong skills in team leadership, coaching, performance management, and conflict resolution.
  • Excellent organizational and planning skills with a track record of delivering complex technical projects.
  • Ability to communicate effectively at all levels—from engineers to executives.

Good to Have

  • Experience supporting AI, automation, or advanced analytics teams.
  • Familiarity with enterprise delivery tools (Azure DevOps, JIRA, Helix, etc.).
  • Understanding software development life cycles, enterprise security processes, and technical project workflows.
  • Background in change management or enterprise transformation initiatives.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities

Team Leadership & People Management

  • Lead the daily operations of the AI team, including team meetings, workflows, and communication.
  • Manage HR responsibilities such as performance reviews, talent development, coaching, and hiring.
  • Support the career growth and skill development of engineers, analysts, and other team members.
  • Foster an inclusive, supportive team culture centered on collaboration, problem-solving, and continuous learning.

Delivery Management & Execution

  • Oversee project planning, sprint execution, backlog management, and work prioritization.
  • Ensure delivery commitments are met through clear roles, resource alignment, and proactive risk management.
  • Develop and maintain project plans, dashboards, and reporting mechanisms for stakeholders and leaders.
  • Partner with the Technical Manager to align engineering capacity with project needs and remove delivery blockers.

Operational Excellence & Governance

  • Ensure the team adheres to enterprise processes, standards, and governance (security, compliance, risk, data management, etc.).
  • Coordinate cross-functional dependencies, including work involving IT, Security, Data, and business partners.
  • Optimize team workflows, documentation, and operating models to increase predictability and efficiency.
  • Drive continuous improvement for processes, tooling, and team effectiveness.

Cross-Functional Coordination & Communication

  • Serve as a central communication point for project status, risks, and escalations across the organization.
  • Translate complex delivery or operational updates into clear, business-focused communication for leadership.
  • Work closely with the Senior Manager to align operational plans with strategic priorities and available resources.
  • Partner with product owners, business stakeholders, and technical teams to ensure transparency and alignment.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree Computer Science, Information Technology, Management, or related field.
  • 6+ years of experience in project/program management, operations leadership, or technology team management.
