The ideal candidate will have extensive hands-on experience in system-level modeling and analysis of 100+Gbps/lane optical links using Matlab, Python and/or other programming languages. They'll also be able to correlate lab measurements with a system model and improve link performance in the lab. You'll work on solutions that scale with our customers' emerging demands for AI and infrastructure computing and networking. Together with other members of our CTO office, central R&D, and connectivity product group, you'll develop complete optical connectivity solutions, including designs in the world's most advanced CMOS technology nodes.

What You'll Do:

  • Create and enhance design methodologies and flows for architecture definition of PAM DSP optical products and derive design requirements
  • Develop end-to-end optical system models including optical components
  • Perform numerical and analytical simulation for IMDD optical links
  • Perform model correlation to lab and circuit simulation results
  • Derive specifications for components, circuits, and signal processing features in future products
  • Prepare and present analysis internally to marketing and engineering teams and externally to partners, customers

What You'll Need

  • Master's or PhD degree with minimum of 2 years' relevant experience
  • Experience with and a strong mathematical understanding of the analytical and numerical modelling of system-level optical communication systems and components at 100+Gbps
  • Programming experience in Matlab, Python, and/or other programming languages
  • Solid understanding of different impairments in an optical link
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team spanning from marketing to engineering
  • Background in photonics is a plus
