EMV and Payment Systems Expert (M/F)

The EMV and Payment Systems Expert at Thales plays a key role in supporting the transformation of payment ecosystems. This expert provides reference expertise on EMV standards and new payment technologies, actively contributing to the PURE program for white-label EMV specifications. The role involves technology watch, consulting, and standardization, interacting with banks, merchants, and payment schemes. Responsibilities include monitoring EMVCo initiatives, analyzing payment innovations, and assisting clients with system analysis and migration strategies.

Must Have

• Monitor EMVCo initiatives, card and account-to-account payment schemes, and DSP2/DSP3 evolutions.
• Track and analyze payment innovations: mobile, instant, biometrics, QR code, tokenization, digital wallets.
• Contribute to the PURE program: identify needs, propose innovations, write and maintain white-label EMV specifications.
• Produce associated documentation: test plans, implementation guides, reference personalization profiles.
• Support clients (banks, merchants, schemes) in analyzing payment systems and defining migration strategies.
• Provide internal and external consulting, training, and support on payment systems and EMV standards.
• Excellent knowledge of EMV specifications and payment systems.
• Understanding of various payment methods (contactless, mobile, instant, QR, remote).
• Good command of authentication, tokenization, and digital wallets.
• Strong analytical and technical requirements structuring skills.
• Ability to write exhaustive technical documents.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Proficiency in English is essential.

Within Thales' Payments Services activities, the EMV and Payment Systems Expert plays a key role in supporting the transformation of payment ecosystems. They provide reference expertise on EMV standards and new payment technologies, while actively contributing to the PURE program for white-label EMV specifications.

At the crossroads of technology watch, consulting, and standardization, this role is for an expert capable of interacting with banks, merchants, and payment schemes. Your main missions:

• Ensure technological and regulatory watch on EMVCo initiatives, card and account-to-account payment schemes, as well as DSP2/DSP3 evolutions.
• Monitor and analyze payment innovations: mobile, instant, biometrics, QR code, tokenization, digital wallets.
• Contribute to the PURE program: identify new needs, propose innovations, write and maintain white-label EMV specifications.
• Produce associated documentation: test plans, implementation guides, reference personalization profiles.
• Support clients (banks, merchants, schemes) in analyzing their payment systems and defining migration strategies.

Your profile

You come from an engineering school or have a Master's degree and possess the following skills:

• Excellent knowledge of EMV specifications and card and account-to-account payment systems.
• Understanding of different payment methods: contact / contactless, mobile payment, instant payment, QR code, remote payment.
• Good command of authentication, tokenization, and digital wallet concepts.
• Strong ability to analyze and structure business and technical needs.
• Ability to write exhaustive technical documents: specifications, reports, guides.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, including with non-technical stakeholders.
• Proficiency in English is essential in an international context.
