Job Summary
This role is for an Electronic System Engineer within the Test Solution Department at Thales' Elancourt site. The primary focus is on developing robust test solutions for products in the Missile Electronics Sector, including radar echo generation and electromagnetic scene simulation. Key responsibilities involve analyzing system requirements, collaborating on specifications with various architects (electronics, hyperfrequency, software), allocating requirements to sub-assemblies, and overseeing their development and acceptance. The position requires a minimum of five years of experience in systems engineering, with strong technical knowledge in electronics, hyperfrequency, and proficiency in system engineering methodologies and simulation tools. The successful candidate will contribute to challenging projects in a dynamic, high-level environment.
Must Have
- Analyze and understand system needs through advanced studies, simulations, models, prototypes.
- Contribute to drafting system requirements in cooperation with architects (electronics, hyperfrequency, processing, firmware, software).
- Contribute to allocating system requirements to sub-assemblies of each functional chain.
- Write technical specifications for sub-assemblies.
- Participate in sub-assembly development phases (internal or external) and ensure follow-up until acceptance.
- Capitalize justification elements and contribute to the solution's DJD.
- Hold a Bac+5 (Master's degree).
- Have proven experience of at least 5 years in systems engineering.
- Possess technical knowledge in electronics, including hyperfrequency.
- Master main system engineering methodologies and processes: requirements management, technical facts management, configuration management.
- Have experience in writing technical specifications for RF & Hyperfrequency dominant sub-assemblies.
- Possess knowledge of Engineering and simulation tools.
- Understand English orally and in writing.

Your daily life
At the heart of Saint Quentin en Yvelines, the Elancourt site is one of Thales' most important technological centers of excellence. The diversity and technicality of the systems and equipment mobilize expertise in more than 80 professions in defense, high-tech security, and digital services solutions.
Within the Test Solution Department, you will join the Microwave Test Benches service. The service is responsible for developing test solutions for products in the Missile Electronics Sector. You will work on the test solutions developed by the service: means of generating radar echoes and electromagnetic scenes, an evaluation base for seekers and radar systems.
Your missions
- Analyze and understand system needs through advanced studies, simulations, mock-ups, models, prototypes...
- Contribute to drafting system requirements in cooperation with domain architects (electronics, hyperfrequency, processing, firmware, software),
- Contribute to the allocation of system requirements to the sub-assemblies of each functional chain of the solution
- Write the technical specifications for the sub-assemblies.
- Participate in the development phases of the sub-assemblies internally or externally and ensure their follow-up until acceptance.
- Capitalize justification elements and contribute to the solution's DJD.
Your profile
Graduated with a Bac+5, you have proven experience of at least 5 years in the field of systems engineering. You have technical knowledge in electronics, including hyperfrequency. You master the main system engineering methodologies and processes: requirements management, technical facts management, configuration management... You have experience in writing specifications for RF & Hyperfrequency dominant sub-assemblies. You have knowledge of Engineering and simulation tools. You understand English orally and in writing.
