Job Summary
The Electronic Components Engineer at Thales' Elancourt site, within the Technical Competence Center's Electronics Department, contributes to mastering electronic developments. This role involves guiding and validating electronic component choices during the design phase, ensuring coherence with Thales Group strategies and preferential lists. The engineer provides technical and technological support throughout the product lifecycle, focusing on component performance, reliability, quality alerts, obsolescence, and export control. Key responsibilities include performing risk analyses and validating electronic product nomenclatures.
Must Have
- Orient the choice of electronic components in coherence with Group strategies, future development needs, and the types of environments electronic boards will experience.
- Consider component performance and reliability, Quality alerts, as well as obsolescence/sustainability and export control aspects.
- Perform risk analyses on chosen components and validate electronic product nomenclatures.
- Represent the entity within various Thales Group instances.
- Provide expertise on the state of the art in electronic components.
- Engineering degree (Bac + 5).
- Solid experience and proven skills in electronics and component technology, in severe application environments.
- Strong motivation, a taste for exchange and sharing on electronics topics.
- Good interpersonal skills and communication.

Your daily life
At the heart of Saint Quentin en Yvelines, the Elancourt site is one of Thales' most important technological centers. The diversity and technicality of the systems and equipment mobilize expertise in more than 80 professions in defense, high-tech security, and digital services solutions.
Attached to the Technical Competence Center, the Electronics Department is responsible for the development of electronic sub-assemblies for the products of the Optronics and Missile Electronics Business Line. It designs and develops analog, digital, power, and hyperfrequency electronic boards. Within this department, the Design Office Service supports the development of boards. This service is composed of about twenty engineers and technicians, including a technology expertise hub. Within this hub, the Electronic Components Engineer contributes to mastering electronic developments and assists designers and architects on current and future developments.
You contribute to guiding and validating the choices of electronic components during the design phase, in coherence with Thales Group Strategies and preferential lists. You intervene transversally to provide technical and technological support throughout the product life cycle.
Your main missions and contributions will be:
- Guide the choice of electronic components in coherence with Group strategies, the needs of our future developments, as well as the types of environments experienced by electronic boards (according to profiles and lifespans).
- Take into account component performance and reliability, Quality alerts, as well as obsolescence/sustainability and export control aspects.
- Perform risk analyses on the choices made and validate the nomenclatures of electronic products.
- Represent the entity within the various instances of the Thales Group.
- Provide expertise on the state of the art in the field of electronic components.
Your profile
With an engineering degree (Bac + 5), you have developed solid experience and demonstrated skills in electronics and component technology, in application areas in severe environments.
You show strong motivation, a taste for exchange and sharing on electronics topics, good interpersonal skills, and a sense of communication are expected.
