We are looking for a detail-oriented and passionate Quality Assurance Tester to join our team and ensure an exceptional gameplay experience across PC and Steam Deck platforms. This role focuses on validating compatibility, stability, and performance for a game in the horde-survival/roguelike genre.
The ideal candidate not only has strong QA skills but also a genuine passion for games like Hordes of Fate, Vampire Survivors, 20 Minutes till Dawn, Halls of Torment, or similar action-survivor roguelikes. You should enjoy diving deep into systems-driven gameplay, testing progression across multiple runs, and pushing the limits of performance in high-enemy-count scenarios. By combining both a sharp eye for bugs and a player’s perspective on fun and flow, you’ll help ensure the game is polished, balanced, and engaging for our community.

You will:
1. Work closely with product owners, developers, and QA management to understand the acceptance criteria, identify risks, and assist in planning testing coverage for upcoming features and releases.
2. Assist in the creation of test strategies and test plans to cover various features in a dynamic and fast-paced environment that is user-centric.
3. Conduct compatibility testing on different hardware setups, GPU/driver versions, and operating system builds.
4. Execute performance benchmarking, including FPS, load times, memory usage (especially for Steam Deck).
5. Test across input methods (mouse/keyboard, controllers, Steam Deck controls) to ensure consistent player experience.
6. With guidance, identify, analyze, and solve issues found during the testing phase.
7. Help track and report on game quality, analyzing where quality issues come from and how to improve.
8. Stay updated with the latest testing methodologies, best practices, and tools, and assist in evaluating and improving testing processes and tools.
