Job Description

The Performance Manager oversees best-in-class implementation of Starcom biddable media (programmatic, social, search, ecommerce), ensuring excellence in platform implementation, optimisation & reporting. This role involves managing the digital performance business across allocated client teams, owning campaign budget stewardship, and delivering campaigns that meet or surpass targets. The manager will also influence digital performance strategies and spearhead monthly/quarterly performance reviews.
Must Have:
  • Oversee best-in-class implementation of Starcom biddable media.
  • Own campaign budget stewardship, pacing, forecasting, and reconciliation.
  • Ensure campaign delivery in platforms meets or surpasses targets.
  • Implement extensive QA process for fees and client margins.
  • Influence digital performance strategies, partnerships, and tech opportunities.
  • Spearhead monthly and quarterly performance reviews.
  • Develop and moderate structured test-and-learn frameworks.
  • Accountable for hitting designated client business KPIs.
  • Build strong professional relationships with clients.
  • Mentor and develop direct reports.
  • Proven ability to exceed client and campaign objectives.
  • Activation experience in search, social, programmatic, and ecommerce.
  • Proficient in ad technology, data, and media partnerships.
  • Thorough understanding of bid management tools (DV360, SA360, TheTradeDesk).
  • Knowledge of industry monitoring systems (Hitwise, SimilarWeb).
  • Experience managing junior performance media team members.

Overview

The transformation you will experience:

The Performance Manager oversees best-in-class implementation of Starcom biddable media (programmatic, social, search, ecommerce), ensuring excellence in platform implementation, optimisation & reporting.

Your scope will include:

  • Oversee the digital performance business across allocated client team including maximising the effective use of proprietary Starcom tools and data sets.
  • Own campaign budget stewardship including pacing, forecasting, and reconciliation to ensure accurate delivery against client budgets.
  • Delivery of campaigns in platforms, ensuring we meet or surpass targets.
  • Implement extensive QA process – including ensuring correct implementation of fees and client margins into buying platforms.
  • Provide influence on digital performance strategies, partnerships, and technological opportunities.
  • Spearhead monthly & quarterly performance reviews with Performance Director.
  • Delivery of roadmap initiatives across key platforms; search, social, prog.
  • Collaborate for integrated media solutions.
  • Oversee implementation and optimisation of biddable programs.
  • Champion the Precision media proposition and our products & solutions.
  • Develop and moderate structured test-and-learn frameworks, translating results into business outcomes and innovation roadmaps.
  • Works without direct guidance to meet client objectives & deliverables.
  • Develops and implements ways of working with each client, to ensure an effective an efficient operating rhythm.
  • Delivers thought guidance on all accounts, developing top in class strategies to deliver on client’s objectives.
  • Full accountability for ensuring we hit designated client’s business KPI’s. Continually striving to optimise and improve performance.
  • Focused on building strong professional relationships with clients, including senior client contacts.
  • Identifies new opportunities to leverage Starcom’s broader teams and capabilities to resolve clients’ obstacles and deepen our partnership.
  • Collaborates closely with strategy, creative, and offline teams to deliver integrated media solutions.
  • Influence, mentor, and develop your direct reports, ensuring clear career progression pathways.
  • Contribute to a culture of learning, innovation, and continuous improvement within the team.
  • Champion diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives to foster a positive and inclusive work environment.
  • Engagement with our platform & tech partners including timely and detailed briefs and feedback.

What type of person will be successful in this role:

  • Proven ability to exceed client and campaign objectives.
  • Activation experience in search, social, programmatic and ecommerce.
