Job Summary

ALTEN Group, a leader in Engineering and IT Services, is recruiting a QHSE engineer specialized in the industrial sector for its railway division. The role involves drafting and updating Health & Safety documents, supporting the project team on technical process safety, preparing responses to external stakeholders, conducting site visits, ensuring regulatory compliance, participating in safety meetings, and analyzing causes of incidents. The position requires a Master's degree in Health & Safety/QHSE and 5 to 10 years of experience.

Must Have

  • Draft and update Health & Safety documents (PPSPS, Prevention Plan, MOP).
  • Support project team on technical process safety aspects.
  • Prepare and support project management in responding to external stakeholders.
  • Conduct site visits, monitor corrective actions, and ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Participate in VIC and CISSCT, lead safety talks, and raise awareness.
  • Ensure Health & Safety inductions for employees, temporary staff, and subcontractors.
  • Lead periodic meetings with subcontractors and relay action plan items.
  • Participate in or lead root cause analysis for accidents/incidents.
  • Monitor prevention indicators, update anomaly/incident register, and provide weekly reporting.
  • Prepare and monitor internal/external audits and document project feedback.
  • Master's degree (Bac+5) in Health & Safety, QHSE or industrial field.
  • 5 to 10 years of experience in a similar role, ideally industrial or railway.
  • Proficiency in Health & Safety regulations and prevention tools.
  • Ability to draft and implement PPSPS and prevention plans.
  • Experience in conducting audits and monitoring safety indicators.
  • Basic knowledge of electricity (NFC18-510 standard).
  • Professional proficiency in French (written and oral).
  • Regular travel to construction sites.

Job Description

To strengthen its railway division, the Engineering Department of the ALTEN group is recruiting a QHSE engineer specialized in the industrial sector.

Main Missions

  • Draft and update Health & Safety documents (PPSPS, Prevention Plan, MOP, etc.) and support the project team on technical process safety aspects.
  • Prepare and support the Project Management in responding to letters/requests from external stakeholders (labor inspection, CSPS, client, etc.).
  • Conduct site visits, monitor corrective actions, and ensure a field presence to control regulatory and Group compliance (employees and subcontractors).
  • Participate in VIC and CISSCT, lead safety talks, and raise awareness among teams about risks and prevention measures.
  • Ensure Health & Safety inductions for employees, temporary staff, and subcontractors, verify necessary training and authorizations.
  • Lead periodic meetings with subcontractors and relay action plan items.
  • Participate in or lead root cause analysis in case of accidents, incidents, or HIPOs, in conjunction with the Health & Safety department.
  • Monitor prevention indicators, keep the anomaly and incident register up to date, and provide weekly reporting.
  • Prepare and monitor internal/external audits and document project feedback.

Qualifications

Education / Experience

  • Graduate of an engineering school or holder of a Master's degree (Bac+5) in Health & Safety, QHSE, or industrial field.
  • Experience of 5 to 10 years in a similar position, ideally in an industrial or railway environment.
  • Basic knowledge of electricity (NFC18-510 standard).
