Purchasing Supervisor

Must Have

• Supervise and mentor a team of procurement specialists and buyers/planners.
• Develop and manage sourcing strategies; evaluate potential suppliers.
• Coordinate the full purchasing process, from requisition to delivery, ensuring compliance.
• Analyze market trends and supplier performance for savings and process improvements.
• Maintain strong supplier relationships and monitor their performance.
• Perform cost analysis, track savings, and report key metrics.
• Manage procurement budgets, monitor expenses, and analyze performance.
• Collaborate cross-departmentally to understand needs and forecast demand.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in procurement management or planning in manufacturing.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish, with clear professional communication.
• Strong understanding of MRP/ERP systems and supply chain fundamentals.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for forecasting and data analysis.
• Knowledge of Bills of Materials and technical schematics.
• Knowledge of inventory optimization techniques like JIT and EOQ.
• Strong negotiation, communication, interpersonal, leadership, and problem-solving skills.

Good to Have

• Experience with Microsoft D365 Financial and Operations.
• Professional certifications such as APICS.

What You Will Do

• Supervise, train, and guide a team of procurement specialists and buyers/planners.
• Evaluate team performance, set clear goals, and conduct regular performance reviews.
• Define roles, prioritize workloads, and manage daily purchasing activities.
• Provide mentorship and support to resolve complex problems and ensure team success.
• Develop and manage sourcing strategies and evaluate potential suppliers for B/C parts.
• Coordinate the end-to-end purchasing process, from requisition to delivery, ensuring compliance with all relevant policies and regulations.
• Analyze market trends and supplier performance to achieve savings and improve processes.
• Maintain supplier relationships and monitor their performance.
• Perform cost analysis, track savings, and report important metrics.
• Manage procurement budgets, monitor expenses, and analyze performance to identify opportunities for improvement and cost reduction.
• Collaborate with other departments to understand their needs, assist with complex purchases, and forecast demand.
• Handle pertinent blockages or issues when applicable.
• Participate in supplier calls when management support is required.
• Perform all other assigned duties.

What We Are Looking For

• University degree in supply chain, business, logistics, or a related field, or its equivalent, preferred.
• At least 3 years of experience in procurement management, planning, or a related position within a manufacturing environment, required.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish, with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally in both languages.
• Solid understanding of MRP/ERP systems and supply chain fundamentals.
• Experience with Microsoft D365 Financial and Operations is a plus.
• Strong analytical skills to analyze complex data sets and develop accurate forecasts.
• Proficiency in spreadsheet software such as Microsoft Excel for tasks like forecasting and data analysis.
• Knowledge of Bills of Materials and understanding of technical schematics.
• Knowledge of inventory optimization techniques such as Just-in-Time (JIT) and Economic Order Quantity (EOQ).
• Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage dynamic and changing priorities.
• Effective leadership and mentoring skills.
• Strong problem-solving skills.
• Ability to prepare, present, and communicate solutions clearly.
• Passionate, self-motivated, and enthusiastic.
• Professional certifications such as APICS are a plus.
