Job Summary

Room 8 Studio seeks a senior Project Lead Realistic 3D Characters Artist for game development. Responsibilities include leading projects, executing quality control, solving artistic/technical problems, organizing team work, creating technical specifications, and modeling high/low-poly photorealistic characters. Proficiency in Zbrush, character topology, anatomy, hard surface modeling, UV mapping, texturing (Substance Painter), and excellent communication are essential. Experience with game engines, creature creation, rigging, animation, and drawing are advantageous.

Job Description

Room 8 Studio is currently looking for a proficient and experienced Project Lead who specializes in photorealistic character creation and has a strong background in game development.

The ideal candidate is a leader who can maintain high standards of quality and style, with knowledge of the technical and artistic constraints of the character creation process. 

Superpowers
you have are

  • High-poly sculpt in Zbrush;
  • Character topology for animation;
  • Excellent knowledge of anatomy;
  • Experience in working with hard surface;
  • Ability to create UV mapping and texture baking (normal, AO, etc.);
  • Experience working as a Project Lead;
  • High standards of work quality and artistic taste;
  • Good at an objective evaluation of the team’s work and giving constructive feedback;
  • Excellent communication skills and collaborative mindset to work in dynamic, creative environments;
  • Intermediate+ English level (written and spoken) for seamless collaboration and documentation.

You’re a rockstar

  • Experience with game engines;
  • Experience in creating creatures;
  • Solid understanding of the rigging and animation processes;
  • Drawing skills.

As a part of Room 8
studio, you will

  • Lead projects focused on realistic 3D character direction;
  • Execute quality control for the work produced by the team of artists;
  • Assist in solving artistic and technical problems within the project team;
  • Organize the work of the team within the project and specific tasks;
  • Create technical specifications and guides;
  • Create high-poly and low-poly models of photorealistic characters for games on given concepts;
  • Create optimal UV mapping and texture baking (normal, AO, etc.);
  • Work with texturing in Substance Painter (hand-paint texturing in case the project requirements).
