Key Responsibilities:
ROB Holder Assembly
- Assemble ROB holders in accordance with engineering drawings, technical specifications, and work instructions.
- Fit, align, and fasten mechanical components with precision, ensuring compliance with required tolerances.
- Use appropriate hand tools, torque wrenches, and fixtures to guarantee correct assembly.
- Inspect and verify incoming components before assembly to avoid non-conformities.
- Perform functional checks to confirm that ROB holders meet quality and operational requirements.
ROB Test Tables Assembly
- Assemble mechanical structures, fixtures, and electrical/pneumatic components of ROB test tables.
- Install connectors, harnesses, sensors, switches, and interface modules into the test table setup.
- Route and secure wiring and pneumatic tubing following defined standards and diagrams.
- Integrate electrical circuits and ensure proper grounding, insulation, and safety compliance.
- Carry out final mechanical and electrical validation of ROB test tables before release to production.
Testing & Verification
- Perform electrical continuity, resistance, and functional tests on ROB holders and test tables.
- Detect, isolate, and correct assembly or wiring anomalies.
- Document test results in production or quality management systems to ensure full traceability.
- Support calibration and setup of ROB test tables for validation purposes.
Process & Equipment Support
- Operate and maintain jigs, presses, and fixtures used for ROB holder and test table assembly.
- Conduct first-level maintenance of assembly tools and testing equipment.
- Collaborate with engineering to introduce design changes, new models, or process updates.
- Provide feedback for optimizing work instructions, tools, and assembly ergonomics.
Quality & Continuous Improvement
- Ensure ROB holders and test tables are built in compliance with Aptiv’s quality requirements.
- Participate in problem-solving activities (5Why, Ishikawa, PDCA) to address recurring issues.
- Contribute to continuous improvement programs, including 5S, waste reduction, and poka-yoke initiatives.
- Propose ideas to enhance assembly efficiency, product reliability, and workstation ergonomics.
EHS & Compliance
- Apply all EHS rules and internal control procedures during assembly, wiring, and testing operations.
- Handle electrical components, pneumatic parts, and chemicals safely and in compliance with regulations.
- Ensure proper collection and disposal of waste and maintain a hazard-free work environment.
- Keep workstation clean and organized in line with 5S methodology.
Documentation & Reporting
- Record production activities, assembly progress, and test results into production management software.
- Complete quality checklists and traceability documentation for each ROB holder and test table.
- Report anomalies, deviations, and improvement opportunities to supervisors and engineering teams.
- Support internal and external audits (IATF, ISO, customer audits) by ensuring data accuracy and compliance.
Your background:
- Specific training in the field of Mechanical Engineering or Industrial Engineering
- +1 year of experience in ROB´s & Testing
- Knowledge in ROB and Testing.
