Job Summary
The Sales Manager - Transportation for Karnataka will drive revenue growth, manage key customer accounts, and expand market presence. This role requires strong technical understanding of products/solutions, customer relationship management, and the ability to convert opportunities into sales. Responsibilities include identifying new business opportunities, achieving sales targets, conducting customer visits, generating leads, and implementing sales strategies. The manager will also handle account and territory management, market intelligence, technical and commercial support, and sales operations. A Masters/bachelor’s degree in engineering and 8-10 years of B2B industrial products experience are essential.
Must Have
- Identify and develop new business opportunities in the Transportation segment.
- Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets for the assigned territory.
- Conduct regular customer visits, technical presentations, and product demos.
- Generate leads through market research, networking, cold-calling, and trade events.
- Develop and implement sales strategies aligned with company objectives.
- Develop and execute strategic sales plans for key accounts.
- Build and maintain strong long-term customer relationships.
- Ensure effective coverage of the territory, including channel partners/distributors.
- Monitor industry trends, competitor products, and pricing strategies.
- Provide product demonstrations, trials, and application guidance.
- Manage quotations, pricing approvals, order processing, and delivery schedules.
- Ensure timely follow-up for collections and adherence to payment terms.
- Maintain CRM records and prepare sales performance reports.
- Handle client escalations efficiently and ensure quick resolution.
- Proactively identify potential risks and take corrective actions.
- Masters/bachelor’s degree in engineering from a reputed institute.
- Minimum 8-10 years of experience in B2B Industrial products.
- Strong business acumen with a deep understanding of industrial products market trends.

Broad Functions and Purpose of Position:
Sales Manager – Transportation (Karnataka) will be responsible for driving revenue growth, managing key transportation customer accounts, developing channel partners, and expanding market presence in the Karnataka territory. This role requires strong technical understanding of products/solutions, customer relationship management, and ability to convert opportunities into sales.
Duties and Responsibilities_:

Sales Strategy & Planning
- Identify and develop new business opportunities in the Transportation segment (Bus, Truck, Rail, Off-road, farm equipment’s etc.)
- Achieve monthly/quarterly/annual sales targets for the assigned territory.
- Conduct regular customer visits, technical presentations, and product demos.
- Generate leads through market research, networking, cold-calling, and trade events.
- Develop and implement sales strategies aligned with company objectives.
- Forecast sales volumes, revenues, and profitability.
- Plan product launches and market penetration initiatives.
Account & Territory Management
- Develop and execute strategic sales plans for key accounts.
- Build and maintain strong long-term customer relationships.
- Ensure effective coverage of the territory, including channel partners/distributors.
- Maintain updated customer database (CRM management).
Market Intelligence & Competition Tracking
- Monitor industry trends, competitor products, and pricing strategies.
- Collect customer feedback for continuous improvement.
- Identify opportunities for product diversification or new applications.
- Share insights with product management and R&D teams
Technical & Commercial Support
- Provide product demonstrations, trials, and application guidance.
- Support clients with technical documentation and compliance requirements.
- Work closely with market field engineers to deliver end-to-end solutions.
- Ensure value selling rather than price-based competition.
Sales Operations & Administration
- Manage quotations, and pricing approvals.
- Oversee order processing, delivery schedules, and inventory coordination.
- Ensure timely follow-up for collections, and adherence to payment terms.
- Maintain CRM records and prepare sales performance reports.
Problem Solving & Issue Resolution:
- Handle client escalations efficiently and ensure quick resolution.

Qualifications/Experience/Education:
Education:
- Masters/bachelor’s degree in engineering from a reputed institute. MBA preferred.
Experience:
- Minimum 8-10 years of experience in B2B Industrial products, preferably in specialty chemicals
