Job Description

This Director role in FICO's Scores business involves cultivating trusted client relationships, presenting FICO® Score products and thought leadership, and developing account plans to position FICO Score as the preferred credit scoring solution. Responsibilities include identifying new customers, negotiating deals, managing pipelines, resolving client support issues, and contributing to thought leadership, all while operating independently to drive significant business impact.

Must Have:
  • Cultivate and maintain effective working and trusted advisor relationships with C-Level client stakeholders.
  • Present and facilitate discussions about FICO® Score products and FICO produced thought leadership content.
  • Develop and execute detailed account plans that position FICO Score as the preferred credit scoring solution.
  • Identify new potential customers/clients, develop and present proposals, negotiate terms, and drive deals to closure.
  • Develop and manage prospect pipeline and existing relationships, track status, and provide updates.
  • Meet with clients, provide timely responses to questions, and proactively understand needs.
  • Provide functional and technical responses to clients around FICO® Score products.
  • Successfully resolve client support issues, leveraging internal tools and formulating new approaches.
  • Travel as required, with up to 25% of time spent outside of the office for client meetings and industry events.
  • Proven experience within unsecured credit risk gained from working experience at large banking organizations.
  • Strong domain knowledge in banking and the broader financial services aspects of other industries.
  • Exceptional presentation and communication skills, including engaging various audiences.
  • Track record of growing sales, new customer acquisition, sourcing clients and driving end-to-end deals.
  • Relentless focus on execution with a track record of driving to deliver against targets.
  • Ability to effectively listen to clients and understand their business needs and challenges.
  • Excellent customer service, organizational and follow-up skills, successfully managing to an action plan.
  • Proven experience with juggling multiple tasks/projects simultaneously; working proactively, prioritizing effectively, meeting deadlines and working with minimum supervision.
  • Demonstrated self-starter with an ability to maintain composure, project a positive and professional image, and work well under pressure.
  • Ability to effectively collaborate within a cross-functional team environment.

What You’ll Contribute

  • Cultivate and maintain effective working and trusted advisor relationships with a variety of client stakeholders, including C-Level in credit risk.
  • This Director role operates independently without supervisory responsibilities, allowing full focus on strategic initiatives and delivery.
  • Present and facilitate discussions about FICO® Score products and FICO produced thought leadership content in a variety of settings, including client meetings, virtual conferences/webinars, and external in-person events.
  • Develop and execute detailed account plans that position FICO Score as the preferred credit scoring solution for lenders.
  • Identify new potential customers/clients, develop and present proposals, negotiate terms, and drive deals to closure, collaborating with FICO Scores legal, product management, and finance teams.
  • Develop and manage prospect pipeline and existing relationships, track status, provide status updates on regular basis to internal management.
  • Meet with clients, provide timely responses to questions, and proactively ask questions to understand needs, requests and desired outcomes.
  • Provide functional and technical responses to clients around FICO® Score products.
  • Research and shape potential solution opportunities through collaborative engagement with peers, team leaders, and clients to formulate and effectively position solution proposals.
  • Communicate relevant information effectively to diverse audiences and translate subject matter terminology into business terms and recommend alternatives to target clients’ senior management and project/product managers.
  • Successfully resolve client support issues, leveraging internal tools and processes as the first step of handling a client issue and formulating new approaches as needed to achieve positive outcomes for FICO and the client.
  • Make recommendations for improving efficiency, effectiveness, and results.
  • Travel as required, with up to 25% of time spent outside of the office for client meetings and industry events to develop and maintain client relationships. May be required to work outside of normal business hours and travel on weekends.
  • Support creation of thought leadership white papers, executive briefings and industry presentations.
  • Provide executive client engagement support or speak at industry trade shows and conferences.

What We're Seeking

  • Proven experience within unsecured credit risk gained from working experience at large banking organizations (Highly Preferred).
  • Strong domain knowledge in banking and the broader financial services aspects of other industries.
  • FICO product knowledge is a plus.
  • Proven experience demonstrating exceptional performance and consistent delivery of top performer status, evidenced by regularly exceeding individual goals.
  • Exceptional presentation and communication skills, including the ability to engage various audiences (e.g., Chief Risk Officers, Business/Product Leaders, Data Scientist, FICO Leadership) and convey complex concepts clearly and concisely.
  • High attention to detail with sound reasoning and problem-solving skills and logical thinking, while also having the ability to see the big picture.
  • Track record of growing sales, new customer acquisition, sourcing clients and driving end-to-end deals.
  • Relentless focus on execution with a track record of driving to deliver against targets.
  • Ability to effectively listen to clients and understand their business needs and challenges.
  • Excellent customer service, organizational and follow-up skills, successfully managing to an action plan.
