Job Description
CD PROJEKT RED is looking for an experienced Senior Character Artist to work on The Witcher 4, the first game in the new saga. As a Senior Character Artist, you will contribute to an immersive player experience by creating memorable characters of the Witcher universe.
Daily responsibilities
- Delivering projects from concept art to final effect in the game world.
- Collaborating closely with Character Art, Concept Art, Rigging, Animation, Quest and Gameplay Teams to resolve both gameplay-related and visual challenges.
- Contributing to the development of pipelines and workflows, including customisation systems in Unreal Engine.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of demonstrated experience in the games production, focused on the character art area.
- Expertise in organic: sculpting, modelling and simulating, with a solid understanding of anatomy, functionality and aesthetic.
- Outstanding 3D modelling skills across low-poly, mid-poly, and high-poly workflows, with strong proficiency in UV mapping, baking and texturing.
- High proficiency in Modelling (Blender/Maya), Sculpting (Zbrush), Simulating (MarvelousDesigner) and Texturing (Substance Painter) tools.
- Ability to learn new tools and pipelines quickly and effectively.
- High ability to interpret detailed concepts into compelling characters and objects.
- Good background in traditional art skills, understanding fundamentals like proportion, scale, value, colour theory, materials and the ability to communicate them visually.
- Knowledge about garments designs across various eras and genres.
- Team player approach, taking direction, and reacting to stakeholder feedback.

- Experience working on AAA titles.
- General understanding of Unreal Engine.
- Experience in mentoring fellow artists.
- Passion for historical times and a solid understanding of the context and aesthetic of those eras.
