Senior DevOps Engineer II

Mistplay is seeking an experienced Senior DevOps Engineer to lead the design, implementation, and optimization of its cloud infrastructure. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop scalable, secure, and high-performing cloud solutions, mentoring junior engineers, driving architectural decisions, and ensuring cloud strategy aligns with business objectives. The engineer will focus on cloud architecture, automation, monitoring, security, and incident management within an AWS environment.

Must Have

• 8+ years of experience in DevOps, SRE, or related roles
• Proven track record of designing and managing large-scale systems
• Deep expertise in at least one major cloud platform (preferably AWS)
• Proficiency with Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools (e.g., Terraform)
• Strong knowledge of containerization (e.g., Docker) and orchestration platforms (e.g., Kubernetes, EKS)
• Solid understanding of networking concepts, security, and cloud-native architectures
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools like GitHub Actions and ArgoCD
• Strong scripting and programming skills (e.g., Python, Bash, Go)
• Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive mindset
• Strong leadership and mentorship abilities
• Clear and effective communication, with experience working in collaborative, agile environments

• Cloud certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect

We are looking for an experienced and highly skilled DevOps Engineer to lead our cloud infrastructure's design, implementation, and optimization. In this senior role, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop scalable, secure, and high-performing cloud solutions. You will also mentor other engineers, drive architectural decisions, and ensure that our cloud strategy aligns with business objectives.

What you'll do at Mistplay:

Cloud Architecture and Design:

• Design, implement, and maintain scalable and reliable cloud-based infrastructure using platforms like AWS.
• Create and optimize cloud architecture to support application performance, cost efficiency, and security.
• Define best practices for cloud solutions, including multi-region and global architecture.

Infrastructure Automation and Management:

• Build and maintain Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) solutions using tools like Terraform or OpenTofu.
• Automate cloud resource provisioning, deployment, and scaling to support business growth.

Monitoring and Optimization:

• Implement and maintain monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions to ensure the health and performance of cloud environments.
• Perform cost analysis and recommend strategies to optimize cloud expenditures.

Security and Compliance:

• Ensure cloud environments meet security and compliance standards, including identity and access management (IAM), encryption, and network policies.
• Collaborate with security teams to identify and address vulnerabilities and risks.

Collaboration and Leadership:

• Work closely with platform engineers and other stakeholders to design and implement cloud-based solutions.
• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance on best practices.

Innovation and Research:

• Stay updated on emerging cloud technologies and trends and evaluate their potential impact on current systems.
• Advocate for and lead the adoption of new tools, technologies, or methodologies that enhance our cloud ecosystem.

Incident Management and Support:

• Act as a technical escalation point for complex cloud-related issues.
• Lead root cause analysis and implement long-term solutions to prevent recurring issues.
