Senior FinOps Engineer

Plan A Technologies is seeking a Senior FinOps Engineer to scale a rapidly growing platform through mergers and acquisitions. This role involves building strong Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and FinOps foundations, ensuring cost transparency, governance, and long-term scalability. You will collaborate with internal platform teams to standardize infrastructure, migrate legacy resources, and define cloud strategy. Candidates must have at least 7+ years of infrastructure/platform engineering experience and 5+ years with AWS in production.

Must Have

• 7+ years of infrastructure or platform engineering experience
• 5+ years working with AWS in production environments
• Strong hands-on experience with Terraform at scale
• Experience implementing FinOps practices (cost attribution, optimization, forecasting)
• Deep understanding of cloud-native services and architectures
• Excellent verbal and written English communication skills
• BS in Computer Science, Software Engineering or equivalent
• Migrate existing AWS resources (Aurora, DynamoDB, S3, etc.) into Terraform
• Design and enforce IaC guardrails and reusable Golden Path modules
• Improve visibility into infrastructure costs and eliminate untracked or orphaned spend
• Enable team-level cost ownership, reporting, and forecasting
• Partner with platform and engineering teams to improve infrastructure governance
• Provide strategic input on Terraform abstractions and multi-cloud readiness

Good to Have

• Experience designing multi-cloud strategies or abstraction layers on top of Terraform
• Familiarity with FinOps tooling and cost modeling for high-growth environments
• Experience supporting organizations through M&A-driven scaling

JOB OVERVIEW

Plan A Technologies is looking for a skilled Senior FinOps Engineer to help scale a rapidly growing platform undergoing significant expansion due to mergers and acquisitions. This role focuses on building strong Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and FinOps foundations, ensuring cost transparency, governance, and long-term scalability.

You will work closely with internal platform teams to standardize infrastructure practices, migrate legacy resources into managed workflows, and help define the next evolution of their cloud strategy.

Please note: you must have at least 7+ years of infrastructure or platform engineering experience and 5+ years working with AWS in production environments to be considered for this role.

JOB RESPONSIBILITY
