The Netflix Global Affairs team is a group of highly talented and experienced individuals who work closely with their business counterparts to advance the strategic goals of the company. The team is perceived within the Company as solutions-oriented and part of the Company's business team.
We are looking for a Senior Manager of Global Affairs to act as a senior professional in our government relations team in Japan and manage a portfolio of issues focused on the country. The role effectively serves as the deputy leader of our public policy team.

In addition to your functional expertise, strong connections with senior policymakers, and ability to lead strategically you will also need to exemplify the qualities that lie at the core of our culture -- including excellence, selflessness, honesty and impact. The position is based in Tokyo.
The successful candidate will develop and execute the company's government affairs strategy and contribute to the overall success and growth of the business in Japan, working closely with cross-functional partners.
This role will involve managing advocacy projects, research and writing of policy briefs, monitoring and engaging with legislative and rule-making initiatives and will require some international travel. This role will require cross-functional collaboration with local, regional, and global stakeholders and colleagues. The role will also require working collaboratively within a local team of policy executives and therefore experience in handling matrixed organizational structures is preferred.
Requirements:
The successful candidate will have at least 10-15 years of policy or government relations experience, either working with a company, government, trade association or similar employer. Experience working with governmental entities and knowledge of internet and technology issues is preferred, as is a background in entertainment, law or policy. The successful candidate will have excellent writing and speaking skills, and will be highly organized, collaborative and solutions-oriented. Fluency in English and Japanese is required.
