Job Summary

The Senior Manager - Scientific Services (India) at Springer Health+ will provide scientific leadership and strategic direction for medical communications initiatives within the Indian market. This role requires a deep understanding of the Indian healthcare landscape, strong scientific acumen, and proven experience in medical communications. Key responsibilities include developing and executing high-quality scientific content, fostering relationships with Key Opinion Leaders, collaborating with pharmaceutical medical affairs teams, strategic planning, business development, and ensuring compliance with ethical and regulatory standards.

Must Have

  • Lead development and management of scientifically accurate medical communication materials.
  • Ensure content aligns with client objectives, strategic imperatives, and industry best practices.
  • Maintain in-depth therapeutic area knowledge and stay abreast of latest scientific data.
  • Provide scientific review and quality control for all deliverables.
  • Work closely with medical affairs teams of pharmaceutical clients.
  • Collaborate on integrated medical communication plans.
  • Participate in client meetings and presentations, providing scientific expertise.
  • Ensure seamless communication and collaboration with client medical affairs teams.
  • Contribute to strategic proposals and pitches for new business opportunities.
  • Provide scientific input into project scoping, budgeting, and timelines.
  • Ensure all medical communication activities comply with ethical guidelines and Indian regulatory requirements.
  • 15+ years in medical communications or healthcare marketing, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
  • Deep understanding of Medical Affairs, scientific communications, and regulatory requirements.
  • Strong digital acumen, including experience with omnichannel strategies and digital engagement platforms.
  • Well-networked within the pharmaceutical and healthcare industry in India.
  • Demonstrated ability to engage in strategic conversations with Medaffairs team.
  • Education: MBBS / MD.
  • In-depth understanding of the Indian healthcare system, pharmaceutical industry, and regulatory environment.

Good to Have

  • Experience working with pharmaceutical, biotech, or medical device clients is preferred.
  • Experience working with global clients will be an added advantage.
  • Additional Courses in Certified Medical Publication Professional or equivalent courses / Management degree will be an added advantage.

About the Role

The Sr. Manager - Scientific Services (India) will play a pivotal role in providing scientific leadership and strategic direction for medical communications initiatives within the Indian market. This role requires a deep understanding of the Indian healthcare landscape, strong scientific acumen, and proven experience in medical communications. The Sr. Manager will be responsible for developing and executing high-quality scientific content, fostering relationships with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs), and collaborating effectively with medical affairs teams of pharmaceutical companies.

Key Responsibilities

Scientific Content Development & leadership:

Lead the development and management of scientifically accurate and impactful medical communication materials, encompassing scientific platforms, medical education programs (slide decks, webinars, workshops), publications (manuscripts, abstracts, posters), digital content (websites, videos, infographics), and medical information resources.

Ensure all content is aligned with client objectives, strategic imperatives, and industry best practices.

Maintain in-depth therapeutic area knowledge and stay abreast of the latest scientific data, clinical trial outcomes, and industry trends.

Provide scientific review and quality control for all deliverables to ensure accuracy, clarity, and medical integrity.

Collaboration with Medical Affairs Teams of Pharmaceutical Companies:

Work closely with medical affairs teams of pharmaceutical clients to understand their strategic objectives and communication needs in the Indian market.

Collaborate on the development of integrated medical communication plans that align with client medical affairs strategies.

Participate in client meetings and presentations, providing scientific expertise and strategic insights.

Ensure seamless communication and collaboration between our team and client medical affairs teams.

Strategic Planning & Business Development:

Contribute to the development of strategic proposals and pitches for new business opportunities.

Provide scientific input into project scoping, budgeting, and timelines.

Identify and evaluate new medical communication trends and technologies relevant to the Indian market.

Support the growth of the Scientific Services team in India by mentoring junior team members and contributing to internal training initiatives.

Compliance & Ethical Standards:

Ensure all medical communication activities are conducted in accordance with ethical guidelines, and regulatory requirements in India.

Maintain a strong understanding of local regulations related to pharmaceutical promotion and medical communications.

Implement quality control processes to ensure compliance in all projects.

Required Experience & Qualifications:

Experience:

15+ years in medical communications or healthcare marketing, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.

Proven track record of scaling MedComms services within an agency or healthcare communications environment.

Experience working with pharmaceutical, biotech, or medical device clients is preferred. Experience working with global clients will be an added advantage

Expertise:

Deep understanding of Medical Affairs, scientific communications, and regulatory requirements.

Strong digital acumen, including experience with omnichannel strategies and digital engagement platforms.

Leadership & Networking:

Well-networked within the pharmaceutical and healthcare industry in India.

Demonstrated ability to engage in strategic conversations with Medaffairs team.
