About The Role

The Compute Infrastructure team is responsible for building and maintaining the scalable, secure, and highly reliable infrastructure that supports our production and non-production environments. As our systems have grown, so have the challenges. We now operate in a multiregion setup, support critical infrastructure for multiple product teams, and continuously automate and innovate to meet the demands of our rapidly expanding customer base.

We work with a diverse set of technologies, specifically AWS, Kubernetes, Terraform, ArgoCD, Argo Rollouts, Helm, Atlantis, Buildkite, Python, and Go. The team introduced the cell architecture to the infrastructure, to help the company grow its presence globally. This is a unique opportunity to work at the platform level and shape the future of Rippling's infrastructure.

What You'll Do: 

• Design, build, and enhance multiregion infrastructure to meet the demands of a global customer base with data residency requirements.
• Build tools and frameworks to automate the deployment, scaling, and management of infrastructure, reducing manual overhead and improving reliability.
• Introduce guardrails, monitoring, and automated recovery mechanisms to ensure critical systems maintain low tolerance for downtime.
• Implement advanced systems such as Cell architecture and facilitate multiregion deployments.
• Evolve the deployment infra needs as we refactor and split the monolith
• Implement scalable and robust systems that will keep pace with the rapid growth of Rippling
• Partner with product teams, including AML, Data Lake, and Data Cloud, to understand their infrastructure needs and implement robust solutions.
• Work with Senior & Staff engineers and teams in solving complex technical challenges, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous learning.

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of professional work experience in cloud infrastructure
• Preferred knowledge in Kubernetes, Terraform, Helm, and AWS.
• Backend development experience in Python or Go is highly desirable, especially in building and maintaining internal frameworks

Rippling highly values in-office collaboration. Employees living within 30 miles of an office are expected to work onsite three days a week with those living 30-49.9 miles away expected to be in the office one day a week. Employees living over 50 miles away are required to relocate within 30 miles of an office.  To enhance team cohesiveness, new employees are asked to work onsite three days a week for their first six months.
