This Sr. Accounting and Tax Analyst role is a key member of the Canadian accounting team, supporting general accounting workstreams for the Canada and Caribbean segment. The position offers opportunities to contribute to month-end close, support special projects, analyze financial data, and implement process improvements, collaborating with stakeholders across Finance.
Must Have
- University or college degree combined with 3+ years of accounting experience
- CPA designation
- Ability to thrive in a deadline-driven and rapidly evolving environment
- Strong organizational, written and verbal communication skills
- Proven ability to collaborate with global, matrixed teams across multiple time zones
- Strong analytical skills and exceptional attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver accurate results under tight deadlines
- High intellectual curiosity and learning agility
- Proven ability to build relationships at all levels and functions
- Self-starter who works independently while contributing as a high-impact team player
- Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, formulas)
- Experience preparing corporate tax schedules and HST returns
- Skilled in preparing complex balance sheet account reconciliations
- Experience with GL systems and posting journal entries
Good to Have
- Previous experience in an accounting firm
- Experience with Peoplesoft GL system

Impact You'll Make:
This role is a key member of the Canadian accounting team, supporting general accounting workstreams for the Canada and Caribbean segment. You will collaborate with stakeholders across Finance, including Corporate Accounting, FP&A and other business partners globally. This position offers opportunities to contribute to month-end close, support special projects, analyze financial data, and implement process improvements.
- Support month-end close by preparing complex journal entries and reconciliations for the Canada and Caribbean segment.
- Prepare balance sheet and income statement analytics for management review.
- Prepare Canadian corporate tax provisions and financial information for T2 schedules and related forms.
- Ensure compliance with SOX controls and documentation requirements.
- Participate in special projects and perform ad-hoc analyses to support business decisions.
- Lead statutory audit processes for Canada Registered Pension Plan.
- Assist with federal and provincial tax requests and reconcile government accounts.
- Maintain internal controls and safeguard company assets (including accounts payable, capital assets, treasury).
- Execute on opportunities to streamline and improve accounting processes by implementing technology driven solutions.
This is a hybrid position and involves regular performance of job responsibilities virtually as well as in-person at an assigned TU office location for a minimum of two days a week.
