The Senior Data Strategist defines and implements TransUnion’s data asset strategy, driving product innovation and delivering value. This role involves leading initiatives for financial inclusion and industry innovation, upholding TransUnion’s mission. Responsibilities include shaping strategic roadmaps, advancing thought leadership as a data subject matter expert, driving data acquisition and governance, establishing strategic partnerships, and defining KPIs to optimize data asset performance.
Must Have
- Bachelor’s degree in business, economics, science or a related field.
- 5+ years of professional experience in management consulting, strategic planning, analytics, or related roles.
- Strong analytical and independent research capabilities.
- Effective communicator in distilling complex subjects to executive insights.
- Proficiency in data analysis and advanced data visualization.
- Required Excel experience.
- Shape TransUnion’s strategic roadmap for data initiatives.
- Advance thought leadership as a data subject matter expert (SME).
- Drive data acquisition and governance.
- Establish and maintain strategic partnerships and supplier relationships.
- Define, track, and interpret KPIs for data assets.

What You'll Bring:

- 5+ years of professional experience in management consulting, strategic planning, analytics, or related roles with exposure to strategic and operational responsibilities.
- Strong analytical and independent research capabilities.
- Effective communicator in distilling complex subjects to executive insights.
- Proficiency in data analysis and advanced data visualization. Excel experience is required. Power BI, Tableau, SQL, R, Python, and SAS experiences are a plus.
- Experience in financial services, startup, product management, risk management, or customer engagement is preferred.
Impact You'll Make:
The Senior Consultant, Data Strategy is responsible for defining and implementing TransUnion’s data asset strategy. This role is integral to driving product innovation and delivering value across the organization. The incumbent will lead initiatives that promote financial inclusion, advance industry innovation, and uphold TransUnion’s mission of Information for Good.
Key Responsibilities:
- Shape TransUnion’s strategic roadmap by gathering market intelligence, identifying data needs and opportunities, engaging customers, and securing cross-functional buy-ins and approvals for data initiatives.
- Advance thought leadership as a data subject matter expert (SME) through executive-level communications, publishable research, and proactive insights.
- Drive data acquisition and governance by identifying and evaluating data suppliers to ensure quality, compliance, and strategic alignment.
- Establish and maintain strategic partnerships and supplier relationships, including leading negotiations and managing contract agreements to ensure favorable terms and compliance.
- Define, track, and interpret KPIs to optimize the performance and value of TransUnion’s data assets.
This is a hybrid position and involves regular performance of job responsibilities virtually as well as in-person at an assigned TU office location for a minimum of two days a week.
