As a key member of the Rainbow Six Siege Game Security team, the Data Scientist - Player Protection and Game Security plays an essential role in preserving the integrity of the player experience. This position aims to leverage data to detect and mitigate threats that compromise fairness, security, and trust in the game. The role focuses on protecting monetization fairness, competitive integrity, and account integrity, with an initial priority on marketplace and grey market abuse.
Must Have
- Lead the development and implementation of strategies to detect and mitigate marketplace and grey market abuse.

Job Description
What you will do:
As a key member of the Rainbow Six Siege Game Security team, the Data Scientist - Player Protection and Game Security plays an essential role in preserving the integrity of the player experience. This position aims to leverage data to detect and mitigate threats that compromise fairness, security, and trust in the game.
The Data Scientist will focus on protecting three fundamental pillars:
1. Monetization fairness, by addressing issues such as marketplace abuse and item exploitation.
2. Competitive integrity, by identifying behaviors such as boosting and smurfing.
3. Account integrity, by combating account theft, unauthorized access, and account selling.
The initial priority will be to lead the strategy against marketplace and grey market abuse and fraud. This includes analyzing abuse patterns and types of fraud, defining key metrics to track their evolution, designing alert systems to automatically detect market anomalies, recommending response strategies and protection measures after detection, as well as collaborating with the monetization team to implement reinforcement mechanisms that limit abuse while preserving market freedom.
Beyond monetization, the Data Scientist will contribute to strategies aimed at maintaining competitive integrity at the game level, ensuring that analyses and interventions are aligned with the mission of protecting players and maintaining a fair environment.
Regarding account integrity, the role involves applying cross-functional expertise to strengthen existing defenses, oversee monitoring systems, and ensure rapid detection and response to emerging threats.
Responsibilities
- Market Abuse Strategy
Lead the development and implementation of strategies to detect and mitigate marketplace and grey market abuse. Define and track key metrics to identify fraudulent behavior, build alert systems to flag anomalies, and collaborate with monetization teams to design protection mechanisms that reduce abuse while preserving market dynamics. Provide data-driven analysis to support enforcement actions and policy adjustments.
- Cross-Team Collaboration
Work with teams such as Ubisoft Data Office, Online Services, Security Risk Management, Customer Relationship Center, and Game Security to enhance detection and response capabilities. Connect data between systems to trace the complete abuse cycle, from detection to sanction, to appeal.
- Player Protection Indicator-Based Alerts
Create alerts based on key performance indicators (KPIs) reflecting the health of the player protection ecosystem. Develop real-time alert systems based on abuse trends, system effectiveness, and malicious actor behaviors.
- Abuse Intelligence Systems
Develop and maintain systems to detect abuse patterns in competitive, monetization, and account-related areas. Leverage data from multiple ecosystems to identify emerging threats and assess their impact on players.
- Innovation and Research
Stay informed of industry trends in anomaly detection, behavioral analysis, and data science applied to gaming. Propose new approaches and technologies to strengthen player protection strategies.
Qualifications

Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in data science or analysis, computer science, statistics, or a related field.
- 3 years or more of experience in data science, ideally in video games, fraud detection, or cybersecurity.
- Knowledge of fraud detection in financial markets.
- Proficiency in anomaly detection techniques, classification models, and clustering methods.
- Experience in behavioral analysis and fraud detection algorithms.
- Experience in creating or maintaining real-time alert systems or streaming data pipelines.
- Familiarity with game telemetry, matchmaking systems, or player behavior analysis is an asset.
