Job Summary
The Analyst, Research & Product Development is responsible for analyzing, maintaining, and developing CME Group’s suite of commodity derivatives. This role requires strong data analysis proficiency and communication skills. The analyst takes an increasingly independent approach to evaluating existing listings, identifying market trends through data analytics, and researching new market sectors. They develop sector-specific expertise to support CME’s business goals.
Must Have
- Prepare reports and analysis on physical commodity markets to identify trends and opportunities.
- Assist with the smooth listing of new derivatives in consultation with the relevant head of desk.
- Assist with the production of marketing content and share expertise as required.
- Work closely with other team members within Research and Product Development.
- Collaborate with other areas (e.g., Marketing, BLM, CD&S) to implement new products.
- Proficiency in Windows Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Good to Have
- Familiarity with InfoSource.
- Familiarity with Salesforce.
- Familiarity with Tableau.

Job Description
The Analyst, Research & Product Development is responsible for analyzing, maintaining and developing CME Group’s suite of commodity derivatives. The analyst has strong data analysis proficiency and communication skills. The Analyst takes an increasingly independent approach to analyzing the performance and relevance of existing listings and relaying that to management. The analyst identifies market trends through data analytics and researches new market sectors and trends within the sector. The analyst has developed sector-specific expertise that he or she shares internally and externally to further CME’s business goals.
Principal Accountabilities:
- Prepares reports and analysis on the physical commodity markets that identify trends and potential business opportunities.
- Responsible for assisting with the smooth listing of new derivatives in consultation with the relevant head of desk.
- Assists with the production of marketing content and shares expertise as required.
- Works closely with other team members within Research and Product Development and provides assistance and cover.
- Works collaboratively with other areas (e.g. Marketing, BLM, CD&S), to implement new products.
Skills and Software Requirements:
- Windows Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) - Required
- InfoSource, Salesforce, Tableau - Preferred

The pay range for this role is $74,900-$124,800. Actual salary offered will be dependent on a wide array of factors including but not limited to: relevant experience, skills, education and comparison to internal employees (where relevant).
