The Impact of this Role:
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Senior Financial Accountant, with German GAAP and tax expertise to join our growing international team. This role is essential for ensuring accurate financial and tax reporting across our German and other international subsidiaries and will leverage your expertise in year end compliance and statutory accounting, indirect and tax reporting.
What You'll Do:
- Manage and review the day to day compliance requirements in line with German GAAP and tax for our German and other international entities;
- Assist with year end statutory audits and tax returns;
- Manage the relationship with our outsource provides for local entities compliance requirements;
- Own month VAT reporting and accounting for our German entities;
- Assist in completeness of reconciliations between US GAAP and German GAAP for our German entities;
- Support other functions of the business operations, as required;
- Prepare and post journal entries, ensuring proper documentation and approvals;
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts and perform variance analysis;
- Contribute to the preparation of financial statements;
- Collaborate effectively with Finance and cross-functional teams on monthly and annual close matters
- Actively participate in and drive process optimization and automation initiatives to enhance efficiency and effectiveness within the accounting function, and
- Provide support for ad hoc projects, financial analysis, and reporting as needed.
What You Will Bring to the Team:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
- 3-5+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a fast-paced environment
- Deep expertise in German GAAP, tax and core accounting principles
- Previous expertise in working in a US Multinational with international subsidiaries
- Knowledge and understanding of US GAAP
- A self-starter mindset with the ability to work independently, coupled with excellent analytical skills and an unwavering attention to detail
- Superior organization skills, demonstrating the ability to multitask effectively and prioritize workloads, along with exceptional project and time management skills
- The agility and adaptability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
- Experience working with NetSuite, sage intacct and other modern accounting systems is an advantage
- Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills
