Job Description

The Staff Accountant I will be responsible for accurate revenue recognition in line with GAAP, collaborating with project managers, maintaining FIRC trackers, and managing contract accounting policies. Key duties include assisting with AR processes, invoicing, collections, and reconciliations, acting as SPOC for major accounts, and monitoring AR turnover ratios. The role also involves supporting forecasting, budgeting, and MIS, preparing reports, and generating ad hoc financial insights. Additionally, the accountant will identify and implement process improvements, drive automation initiatives, and coordinate with IT, legal, and compliance teams.

  • Proficient in all Microsoft Office Products with heavy emphasis: Word and Advanced Excel skills.

  • Maintain FIRC trackers and ensure export regularization compliance.
  • Apply contract accounting policies consistently.
  • Monitor project utilization for accurate configuration and invoicing.
  • Manage annual customer price escalations.
  • Assist with AR processes including invoicing, collections, and reconciliations.
  • Act as SPOC for major accounts for timely collections and WHT certificate tracking.
  • Conduct weekly and fortnightly follow-ups on outstanding receivables.
  • Monitor AR turnover ratios and implement strategies to improve free cash flow.
  • Support monthly, quarterly, and annual forecasting and budgeting cycles.
  • Prepare and present MIS reports, including actual vs. forecast revenue analysis.
  • Support monthly flash cash statements and Blackline reconciliations.
  • Generate ad hoc reports for project-specific financial insights.
  • Analyze trends in aged debt, unidentified payments, and dispute resolution.
  • Identify and implement process improvements for accuracy and efficiency.
  • Drive automation initiatives in AR and revenue processes.
  • Collaborate with IT and platform engineering teams for system enhancements.
  • Work closely with project managers on financial codes, project setup, and closure.
  • Partner with legal and compliance teams for contract validation and regulatory adherence.

We are looking for a Staff Accountant I who will:

Revenue Recognition

  • Assist with ensuring accurate revenue recognition in line with applicable GAAP.
  • Collaborate with project managers to align revenue recognition with project milestones and performance obligations.
  • Maintain FIRC trackers and ensure compliance with export regularization norms.
  • Ensure contract accounting policies and processes are consistently applied in compliance with the terms and conditions of legally executed customer agreements.
  • Monitor the utilization of Projects to ensure project event milestones and billable hours are accurately configured and invoiced in alignment with contractual requirements and financial policies.
  • Manage Assigned contracts annual customer price escalations, ensuring timely and accurate updates based on contractual agreements and financial guidelines.

Accounts Receivable & Collections

  • Assist with AR processes including invoicing, collections, and reconciliations.
  • Act as SPOC for major accounts ensuring timely collections and WHT certificate tracking.
  • Conduct weekly and fortnightly follow-ups with customers and delivery directors to resolve outstanding receivables.
  • Monitor AR turnover ratios and implement strategies to improve free cash flow.

Forecasting, Budgeting & MIS

  • Liaise with finance teams to support monthly, quarterly, and annual forecasting and budgeting cycles.
  • Prepare and present MIS reports on a monthly and periodic basis, including actual vs. forecast revenue analysis.
  • Support monthly flash cash statements and Blackline reconciliations.

Ad Hoc Reporting & Analysis

  • Generate ad hoc reports for project-specific financial insights and executive decision-making.
  • Analyze trends in aged debt, unidentified payments, and dispute resolution.

Process Improvements & Automation

  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance accuracy, efficiency, and scalability.
  • Drive automation initiatives in AR and revenue processes using digital finance tools.
  • Collaborate with IT and platform engineering teams for system enhancements and integration.

Cross-Functional Coordination

  • Work closely with project managers to ensure financial codes, project setup, and closure align with delivery milestones.
  • Partner with legal and compliance teams to validate contracts and ensure regulatory adherence.

Is this opportunity right for you? We are looking for candidates who has:

  • B.Com or MBA with 1 – 2 years of experience in AR and revenue accounting, preferably in a multinational or tech environment.
  • Ability in understanding financial reporting standards and statutory compliance (GST, VAT, WHT, etc.).
  • Proficiency in Oracle and reporting tools excel would be an advantage.
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to achieve shared goals.
  • Proficient in all Microsoft Office Products with heavy emphasis: Word and Advanced Excel skills would be an advantage.
