Job Summary
The Mexico Customs Officer at Infineon is responsible for ensuring continuous compliance with customs certifications like AEO and C-TPAT. This role involves overseeing import/export operations, maintaining audit readiness, applying for permits, and providing expert guidance on Mexican Customs Law and IMMEX regulations. The specialist will design auditing calendars, establish KPIs, create SOPs, and deliver training to internal departments. They will also act as a liaison between Tijuana/Guadalajara operations and the Global Customs organization, supporting compliance and transactional processes.
Must Have
- Be familiar with Company Internal/External Policies/Procedures
- Directly oversee compliance and retention for AEO / OEA Mexico, C-TPAT, Revision en Origen
- Ensure constant audit readiness for external governmental reviews (SAT Mexico, U.S. CBP) and internal corporate audits
- Apply for necessary permits and implement procedures for customs simplification and compliance
- Maintain deep expertise in Mexican Customs Law and IMMEX regulations
- Design and implement auditing calendar for import/export operations (documentation, HTS, origin, value, Anexo 24/30)
- Establish and execute KPIs for compliance with internal policies and Mexican government regulations
- Prepare and deliver routine performance reports to management
- Create, implement, and maintain SOPs and work instructions; provide training
- Develop and deliver targeted training sessions to internal departments on Customs policies
- Act as liaison between Tijuana/Guadalajara and Global Customs organization
- Support IFAM Customs team with compliance and transactional processes
- Recordkeeping for import-export transaction files and adherence to IFX A.11 retention periods
- Mexico Customs Intranet updates/maintenance and publications
- 4-6 years of professional experience in trade compliance, customs administration, or international logistics within manufacturing/maquiladora
- Bachelor’s degree (International Business, Customs, or related field)
- In-depth knowledge of IMMEX regulations, Mexican Customs Law, Anexo 24 and Anexo 30 systems
- Proven, hands-on experience with OEA (AEO) and C-TPAT compliance and retention
- Professional fluency in both Spanish and English (written and verbal)
- Exceptional attention to detail, strong analytical skills, ability to manage complex compliance projects under deadline pressure
- Proven problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Able to operate effectively within a team environment

Your Role
Key responsibilities in your new role
- Be familiar with Company Internal/External Policies/Procedures
- Directly oversee the compliance and retention requirements for key customs certifications, including the Authorized Economic Operator (AEO / OEA Mexico), C-TPAT (Customs-Trade Partnership Against Terrorism), Revision en Origen and other programs.
- Ensure the facility maintains constant audit readiness status for all external governmental reviews (SAT Mexico, U.S. CBP) and internal corporate audits related to these certifications.
- Apply for necessary permits and implement procedures aimed at simplifying customs processes while maintaining full compliance.
- Maintain deep expertise in Mexican Customs Law and IMMEX regulations to provide expert guidance to the site operations.
- Design and implement a structured auditing calendar to review import/export operations, including documentation, HTS classifications, origin determination, value and automated inventory systems Anexo 24 and Anexo 30.
- Establish and execute metrics (KPIs) to ensure compliance with internal policies and Mexican government regulations, reporting findings periodically to the Regional Customs Officer and site management.
- Prepare and deliver routine performance reports to local and regional management, translating complex customs findings into actionable business insights and risk assessments.
- Create, implement, and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and work instructions. Provide training to related parties and personnel to ensure understanding and compliance.
- Develop and deliver targeted training sessions to internal departments (Logistics, Purchasing, Engineering, Sales, Finance, Facilities, etc.) on Customs policies and procedural updates.
- Act as the dedicated liaison between the Tijuana and Guadalajara operation and the Global Customs organization. Participate in Regional and Global Customs Calls, staying updated on MX customs regulation changes and informing local and regional teams of any possible impact.
- Support IFAM Customs team as needed with compliance and transactional processes.

Your Profile
Qualifications and skills to help you succeed
- 4-6 years of professional experience in trade compliance, customs administration, or international logistics within a manufacturing/maquiladora setting. Prior experience in a supervisory or team lead capacity is preferable.
- Bachelor’s degree is required, preferably in International Business, Customs, or a related field.
- In-depth knowledge of IMMEX regulations, Mexican Customs Law, and functional expertise with Anexo 24 and Anexo 30 systems. (I-Xport is strongly preferred).
- Proven, hands-on experience executing tasks required to ensure OEA (AEO) and C-TPAT compliance and successful program retention is strongly preferred.
- Familiarity with SAP software and its application in business processes
- Professional fluency in both Spanish and English (written and verbal) is mandatory for effective communication with authorities and corporate partners.
- Exceptional attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and the ability to manage complex compliance projects under deadline pressure.
- Proven problem-solving and decision-making skills based on daily activities.
