Job Description

The Strategy and Operations Manager will provide crucial business insights and recommendations to support decision-making and cross-functional alignment. Working closely with Sales Strategy and Operations Managers, you'll manage business cadence, navigate complex systems, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to solve problems and deliver projects. Responsibilities include providing strategic and operational support for the Large Customer Sales team, performing data analysis to identify trends, building reporting tools, conducting ad-hoc analyses to understand business performance, identifying process improvements, and defining solutions for business challenges. The role requires fluent Japanese and English communication and involves setting the focus and direction of the business to achieve Google's business objectives.

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 6 years of experience in management consulting, sales operations, business strategy, investment banking roles, or digital ads sales.
  • Ability to communicate in Japanese and English fluently to interact with internal and external stakeholders.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience in Google ads/performance products.
  • Ability to succeed and exercise acumen in an ambiguous environment.
  • Ability to use business intelligence and dashboards and analyze large data sets.
  • Ability to be a collaborator with ideas, motivation, determination.
  • Excellent communication, people management, and presentation skills, with the ability to write well and convey complex issues clearly.

The Go-to-Market Operations (GTM) team ensures that Google's ads business runs smoothly. We are instrumental in setting the go-to-market strategy and guiding flawless execution and operations against the strategy. We stay focused on aligning the company priorities with strong day-to-day operations, while also helping to evolve early stage ideas into future growth initiatives. We have teams embedded in each of the major Ads business areas, and global teams that work across the business areas.

As a Strategy and Operations Manager, you will provide business critical insights and recommendations that support decision making, cross-functional alignment of goals and expectations, and help teams to execute plans and operate. By working closely with Sales Strategy and Operations Managers, you will run the business cadence, help the organization navigate the complexities of systems and tools, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to solve problems, and design, manage, and deliver projects against operational standards. You will help to set the focus, pace and direction of our business across teams to deliver on Google’s important business opportunities by advocating, challenging, and enabling our Sales organization.

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic, investigative, and day-to-day operational activities for the Large Customer Sales team.
  • Perform data analysis and modeling to identify trends and efficiency opportunities. Build and maintain tools and dashboards to help with reporting and the needs of the team and key stakeholders.
  • Engage in ad-hoc analyses to understand business performance, user metrics, KPIs, and provide concise summaries and recommendations to management.
  • Identify process gaps and opportunities for process improvement.
  • Define and solve problems/opportunities that impact the business organization.
