For this mission to succeed, we need a stable technical basis. This is where you come in, as a System Administrator:in you take command of our digital machine room. You and your team are responsible for our infrastructure in the data center as well as in our office, from Kubernetes clusters and server hardware to company VPN and high-performance office Wi-Fi, everything is included.

Your Tasks

• Core Systems Operator: As part of our Operations team, you are jointly responsible for the smooth operation of our approximately 100 Linux (Ubuntu LTS) servers and thus become the rock in the surf of our IT landscape.
• Cluster & Cloud Commander: You gain valuable practical experience in supporting our internationally distributed Apache Cassandra Cluster and our Kubernetes Cluster on bare-metal servers. You also support us in managing cloud backups.
• Infrastructure Hero: You ensure that everything runs smoothly in the office, from the network to the hardware. Your mission, should you choose to accept it: Defeat the final boss – our printer. Don't worry, we also provide emotional support and celebrate your heroic deeds.
• Guardian of the Metrics: With tools like Prometheus and Grafana, you always keep an eye on our system metrics. You help the team to identify bottlenecks early and ensure that we can act proactively on problems before they escalate.
• Onboarding-Captain: You are the first point of contact for new team members and ensure a smooth start. You take over the technical on- and offboarding and ensure that new companions are optimally equipped from day one.
• Level Up Your Skills: We provide thorough training and experienced mentors. You largely determine which skills you develop during your time with us and in which areas you want to make a career.

Job Requirements

• You are an enrolled student in computer science, business informatics or a related field
• You are enthusiastic about operating large server landscapes, bring a degree, comparable training or private/professional practical experience and interest in this area
• Ideally, you already have experience in Linux, system administration, databases, etc.
• You have strong analytical intelligence
• You show a lot of ambition to learn new topics
• You have German language skills at C1 level and solid English skills
