We're working on several exciting projects and are seeking a Technical Artist to join our team.
Responsibilities
- Assisting in developing and maintaining technical pipelines, tools, and workflows for projects and artists studio-wide
- Support Art and Level Design to help troubleshoot and resolve technical difficulties
- Assist in profiling and documenting game performance and support any optimisations that are required
- Help to prototype new technologies and techniques that will improve the game and its development
- Support the Technical Art Director’s specification for optimised art implementation
- Create clear and comprehensive documentation of toolsets and workflows for team use
- Collaborate and communicate daily with the technical art team
- Playtest the game with the team to see how the world assets are being implemented and to give general feedback on the game
What we’re looking for
- Comprehensive knowledge of Unreal workflows and toolsets
- Basic knowledge of VFX (Niagara) and real-time lighting
- Experience with material workflows (including PBR) within Unreal
- Solid understanding of art pipelines and ways to streamline these processes
- A good grounding in creating Blueprints and tools to aid the art team
- Basic knowledge of scripting for Maya and/or Blender
- Good knowledge of DCC applications, including Speedtree, Maya, and Blender
- Originality and resourcefulness in problem-solving
- Ability to communicate feedback in a concise and constructive way
- Ability to receive and undertake feedback and follow the Art Director’s vision
- Excellent time management and the ability to estimate tasks accurately
- Self-motivated and proactive, with the ability to fully embrace a collaborative remote work culture
- Good communication skills and ability to receive and act upon feedback
- At least 2 years industry experience in a similar position
