Technologist Mechatronics

This role involves working in a multi-disciplinary team to contribute to the concept creation and design of products and systems. Key responsibilities include modeling, simulating, and analyzing their mechatronic properties such as dynamic behavior, control strategies, sensing/actuation, and thermal properties at both system and component levels. The technologist will also perform measurements to support design, production, and reliability, provide consultancy on performance issues, and actively participate in maintaining and shaping the Mechatronics competence, improving design quality through Model Driven Engineering.

Must Have

• M.Sc. or Ph.D. in Mechanical/Mechatronics Engineering (dynamics & control specialization preferred)
• 2+ years’ experience in Mechatronics Engineering (dynamics and control)
• Solid understanding of mechatronic systems, control theory, and actuation principles
• Knowledge and experience of modelling in Matlab/Simulink (1D - 3D lumped mass modelling)

Good to Have

• Additional Mechanical design and/or system design experience

Your role:

• You will work in a multi-disciplinary team and contribute to the concept creation and design of products and systems by modelling, simulating, and analyzing their mechatronic properties such as dynamic behavior, control strategies, sensing/actuation and thermal properties on both system and component level.
• You will perform measurements to support design, production, and reliability related questions.
• You will provide consultancy at the request of a customer on which performance issues of existing products or systems need to be analyzed and solved (performance analysis, parameter studies and experimental troubleshooting).
• You will actively participate in maintaining and shaping the Mechatronics competence across our department
• You will actively participate in improving intrinsic design quality by Model Driven Engineering, coupling the model-based system engineering models with the model-based designs.

You're the right fit if:

• You have obtained a M.Sc. or Ph.D. in Mechanical/Mechatronics Engineering, preferably with a dynamics & control specialization.
• 2+ years’ experience in field of Mechatronics Engineering (dynamics and control).
• Additional Mechanical design and /or system design experience desired.
• You have a solid understanding of mechatronic systems, control theory and actuation principles translating this into mechanical and dynamic behavior of products and systems.
• You have excellent communication skills, a customer-centric attitude, and are able to effectively work in multi-disciplinary development teams.
• You bring a solid analytical attitude combined with interest and skills for experimental validation and strong motivation to apply these skills in the field of system and concept design.
• You have knowledge and experience of modelling in Matlab/Simulink (1D - 3D lumped mass modelling).
