What to Expect

Tesla is looking for a Works Council Partner who coordinates and prepares the collaboration with the Works Council and proposals for company agreements.

As a Works Council Partner, your purpose is to support day-to-day administration with the Works Council. You are the link between HR, Legal, Tesla Leadership, Statutory Directors, and the Works Council, on all issues reported by employees on a daily basis. You are responsible for drafting proposals for regulations and company agreements and for coordinating them with HR, Legal, Tesla Leadership, and Statutory Directors.

As a Works Council Partner, you are organized, self-motivated, proactive, and entrepreneurial. This is a great opportunity to work at a fast-growing, highly diversified, and dynamic company. You will communicate with Tesla Leadership and Statutory Directors and will advise them on the rights of the Works Council and guide them through the code-termination process. Furthermore, you will meet regularly with the Works Council and discuss the implementation of company agreements.

We are open to this role being based elsewhere in the Netherlands.

What You’ll Do

You act as an in-house expert on collective labor law issues and draft and negotiate (general) works agreements.
You work actively, constructively, and responsibly at local Works Council level with the co-determination bodies.
You develop principles for cooperation with all employee representation committees and advise Tesla Leadership, HR and the Statutory Directors in this regard.
Develop trust and collaborative relationships with Tesla Leadership, Statutory Directors and HR who manage Works Council relationships.
Devise the strategy and materials, ensuring an effective feedback and escalation process to project owners to enable on-time deployment of corporate change initiatives.
Develop HR and business leadership competency on Works Council engagement and co-determination requirements.
Coordinate with HR, Legal and other departments across EMEA to create and sustain positive employee relations and facilitate effective communications between employees and Tesla Leadership and Statutory Directors

What You’ll Bring

You ideally have experience working either in a law firm and/or in-house legal department and/or customer facing company department, ideally with a background in employment law
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Law (Employment Law), Human Resources, or another related field
Extensive experience in dealing with Works Councils and conducting negotiations with them
Experience and expertise in the creation of company agreements for Works Council engagement
You are a quick and flexible learner: intellectually curious, open-minded, adaptable, comfortable with ambiguity and risk, and excited by dynamic change
You inspire trust, forge relationships quickly, and earn the confidence and cooperation of your business partners. You have strong interpersonal skills, and can effectively navigate and leverage relationships at all levels of any organization
You have excellent communication skills, with a business level to near native level fluency in English (written and spoken). Excellent communication skills in Dutch is a plus.
