Now, with exciting projects like Project 007, an original James Bond origin story, and Project Fantasy, a revolutionary new online fantasy RPG, we’re expanding our universe and exploring new genres.

We are excited to welcome a Junior Prop Artist to our team in Malmo. As a prop artist at IO Interactive, you’ll work alongside industry veterans and passionate newcomers alike, gaining hands-on experience in AAA game development.

Please note that we are only considering candidates who are available to start immediately in Malmö. Unfortunately, that means that we cannot accommodate long notice periods and support with relocation for this role.

What you will do:

  • Work closely with our other prop artists, tech artists, concept, animation etc, crafting props and setpieces for our 007 game.
  • Create models, textures and materials for hard surface, and sometimes sculpted, more organic assets.
  • Support Tech Art with destructible versions of some of the assets
  • Work on refining and adding final polish to already existing game assets, ie. Tweaking textures, adjusting materials, LODs, and collision, and ensuring assets meet our visual quality standards and meet technical specifications.
  • Set up assets and materials with our game engine Glacier, ensuring they function correctly with shaders, lighting and physics.
  • Assist in identifying and fixing visual or technical bugs

Who you are:

  • Proficiency in one or more 3D applications such as 3DsMax, Maya, Blender etc. and experienced with different modeling techniques.
  • Great understanding of asset creation tools and techniques
  • Experience in setting up assets in game engines like Unity or Unreal Engine.
  • Knowledge of optimisation practices, such as reducing polygon counts, creating efficient UV maps, LODs and optimising textures
  • Experience with texturing tools like Substance Painter, Designer, Photoshop or similar software.
  • A keen eye for detail to polish assets, spot potential issues and able to work on minor bugs
  • Ethusiasm for learning new tools, techniques and pipelines

Before applying, please read the description carefully and make sure your portfolio reflects the style of Project 007: First Light.

We recommend keeping your portfolio focused:

Show 3–5 strong pieces (Preferably game ready props showing an eye for LOD).

Include at least one fully game-ready asset with textures and wireframes.
