Santa Monica Studio is seeking an experienced Lead Tools Programmer for the development of a new unannounced title!

You’re into tools. You’re into making everyone else’s life better. You spend your time thinking about workflow improvements, slick user interfaces and optimizations that will decrease iteration times.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of programmers in the development and support of design tools for digital content creation
• Create and maintain healthy lines of communication with user base and invite feedback
• Design, develop, and review code to achieve milestone goals and meet technical standards
• Mentor and guide team members in adhering to programming best practices
• Partner with leads and directors to manage roadmap for future tech
  
  

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or equivalent experience
• Minimum five years of professional programming experience
• Expertise in C++, C#, or Python
• Prior experience in the development of custom tools such as Maya plugins, level editors, or other standalone tools to support designers
• Demonstrate the ability to write clean, maintainable, and extensible code
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

At SIE, we consider several factors when setting each role’s base pay range, including the competitive benchmarking data for the market and geographic location.

Please note that the base pay range may vary in line with our hybrid working policy and individual base pay will be determined based on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location.

The estimated base pay range for this role is listed below.

$167,500 — $251,300 USD
