Job Description

The Purchasing Receiver is responsible for maintaining a safe and organized environment for goods. This includes coordinating the movement of goods from the loading dock to storerooms, ensuring accurate record-keeping of deliveries, and communicating discrepancies to ensure accurate payments. The role involves working with various departments, assisting with purchasing systems, and contributing to a positive work environment. Additional duties include contacting suppliers and assisting with projects as needed.

  • Ensure products are received according to standards.
  • Maintain accurate records of deliveries and orders.
  • Communicate discrepancies on invoices.
  • Assist with purchasing systems.
  • Ensure goods are appropriately requisitioned.

Job Details

What You Will Be Doing:  

  • Consistently offers professional, engaging and friendly service. 

  • Maintain safe, sanitary and secured environment for all locked storerooms.  This includes cleaning of storeroom and cooler floors, walls, and shelves. 

  • Coordinate the movement of goods from the loading dock to storerooms. 

  • Ensure that all products are received and/or returned according to hotel standards and policies. 

  • Maintain accurate records of all requisitions, purchase orders, deliveries and disbursements.  Record and confirm all discrepancies as required. 

  • Computer work including tracking of packages within a software application. Regular email communication on computer terminals. 

  • Work with departments on completion of requisitions and properly fill orders as requested 

  • Communicate discrepancies clearly on invoices or packing slips to ensure Accounts Payable has accurate information for payment. 

  • Assist Department Heads with purchasing systems as questions arise. 

  • Ensure that all goods are appropriately requisitioned and recorded before disbursing. 

  • Contact suppliers to coordinate and correct discrepancies. 

  • Contribute to a fun, positive work environment for the Accounting Team and other colleagues. 

  • Assist the Director of Finance and Director of Purchasing with any projects that may arise. 

  • Other duties as assigned.
