The candidate will handle legal requirements and analyze system designs for conventional and AD-controlled vehicles, contributing to the development of future braking technologies such as brake-by-wire and redundant systems.
Must have:
  • Master's/Bachelor's degree in relevant engineering
  • 10+ years experience in Electrical/Mechatronics Engineering
  • Proficiency in Chassis Systems Engineering
  • In-depth knowledge of ISO 26262
  • Experience with FTA, FMEA, FMEDA
  • Experience in safety-critical software development

Project description

Deceleration department, responsible for the vehicle braking and developing for conventional and AD controlled vehicles.

Customer is going to expand in-house development to today's supplier developed SW solutions and research future systems for their portfolio, such as brake by wire and redundant systems. Customer works with platform solutions where they strive to lead and shape the development on future platforms.

Responsibilities

Your responsibility will be System Safety Engineering for the Brake System including SW, HW, Pedals.

The work includes safety analysis of the defined system design, covering methodologies such as FTA, FMEA and FMEDA.

It also includes defining and reviewing the Technical Safety Concepts for the product.

Compliance towards ISO 26262 and working according to Volvo Cars defined system safety processes is an obvious part of the responsibility.

The role requires a lot of collaboration with colleagues in the team, with other teams within Vehicle Platform, Suppliers and other parts of R&D.

Perform System Safety Joint Reviews with the Supplier

Perform Verification Reviews on safety work products including Test specification.

You support your organization's System Safety Deviation handling.

You act as a System Safety contact person for your organization.

Handling and breakdown of legal requirements.

Skills

Must have

Masters/Bachelor's degree in Controls and Mechatronics, Electrical/Electronic or Computer Science Engineering or equal

10 years of experience in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering or a related field.

Proficiency in Systems Engineering within Chassis domain.

In-depth Knowledge on Functional Safety (ISO 26262)

6 years of experience as System Safety Engineer/Functional Safety Manager or equivalent role.

Experience in analysis methodologies (TSC, FTA, FMEDA, FMEA) and processes/methods/tools for functional safety.

Experience with development in safety critical software.

You communicate clearly and concisely, in written and spoken English.

You thrive in situations where the answer is unknown, but the challenge is in finding a solution that is an optimal tradeoff between the needs of different stakeholders.
