Job Description

Disney Television Animation (TVA) is seeking a dynamic and visionary Senior Vice President of Development & Current Series to lead the creative and strategic direction of TVA’s kids and family content slate. This executive will oversee the development and production of animated series, ensuring alignment with TVA’s storytelling excellence, brand values, and audience engagement goals. Key responsibilities include creative leadership, talent collaboration, content evaluation, strategic oversight, industry engagement, operational management, and stakeholder relations.

  • Drive the development and execution of TVA’s current series and new content initiatives.
  • Partner with writers, producers, showrunners, and creative teams.
  • Review scripts, treatments, and pitches to identify high-potential projects.

  • Represent TVA at industry events, festivals, and panels.
  • Oversee budgets, schedules, and deliverables across multiple projects.
  • Cultivate and manage relationships with talent, agents, external partners, and internal stakeholders.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in television development or production.
  • Proven track record of developing and launching successful animated content.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent creative judgment and storytelling instincts.
  • Deep industry relationships and knowledge of the animation and television landscape.
  • Ability to manage multiple high-profile projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Exceptional communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Film, Television, Communications, or a related field.

Key Responsibilities

  • Stakeholder Relations: Cultivate and manage relationships with talent, agents, external partners, and internal stakeholders across Disney Entertainment Television.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in television development or production at a network, studio, or production company.
  • Proven track record of developing and launching successful animated content
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and mentor creative teams.
  • Excellent creative judgment and storytelling instincts.
  • Deep industry relationships and knowledge of the animation and television landscape.
  • Ability to manage multiple high-profile projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Exceptional communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Film, Television, Communications, or a related field required. Advanced degree preferred.

The hiring range for this position in Glendale, CA is $340,800 to $457,200 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
