The Primary Spanish Editor will be responsible for editing primary education books, teacher guides, and various educational materials (print and digital), ensuring quality, timelines, and budget adherence. Key duties include understanding curriculum programs, planning projects, managing schedules, coordinating internal and external teams, overseeing editorial processes, handling multiple projects, controlling costs, maintaining company assets, and ensuring proper author rights documentation.

Must Have:
  • Bachelor's degree in Hispanic Literature, Communication Sciences or related field.
  • Three years of experience in textbook editing.
  • Knowledge of grammatical and spelling rules.
  • Knowledge and mastery of the editorial process and the discipline being edited.
  • Ability to work on various projects in parallel.
  • Teamwork skills.
  • Ability for project planning.
  • Ability to coordinate the different processes involved in their work (editorial, legal, and administrative).

Position Objective:

Edit primary education books, teacher guides, and various educational materials, both print and digital, ensuring quality, established timelines, and assigned budgets are met.

Main Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Thoroughly understand curriculum programs and ensure their compliance in the educational materials under their charge.
  • Participate in the planning of projects in their area and prepare the deliverables resulting from this planning.
  • Develop work schedules and control them throughout the project, taking necessary measures to ensure compliance with each phase of the project.
  • Coordinate and supervise all editing processes with internal and external collaborators.
  • Ensure timely and proper completion of each phase of the editorial process, guaranteeing the quality of the edited material.
  • Work on various projects in parallel.
  • Control project costs according to the approved budget.
  • Keep company assets updated: server files, progress reports, schedules, project directories, process documents, etc.
  • Ensure that copyright documentation for all their editorial projects (contracts, ISBNs) is properly requested and signed in a timely manner.

Experience, Skills, and Knowledge

Essential/Mandatory:
