Technical Product Manager

As Technical Product Managers at Riot, we combine deep technical knowledge and experience with product leadership capabilities to enable Riot to deliver key products and supporting systems to players.

As a Technical Product Manager III on the Content Access Platform services team, you will define and direct efforts to build internal-facing tools that let game teams successfully ship content to players via service configuration. The services that power our games at Riot allow millions of players around the globe to play together every day. You will partner with customer teams at each Riot game, central technology teams, and teams at Tencent to ensure that we are making excellent decisions in order to increase the quality of service for our players and reduce the operational cost and maintenance burden of shipping content to players via our services. You will report to the Product Lead for Riot’s Commerce Initiative.

Responsibilities:

• Develop the technical product vision and development strategy for Riot’s content platform ecosystem and services based on game and player needs.

• Manage all essential customer and partner relationships including game teams and other internal Riot teams that will integrate with the system.

• Manage the product team backlog, product road map, oversee improvement process, and scrum ceremonies for the team.

• Manage important requirements, customer and partner communications, and ensure the product team is aligned with Riot's goals and stakeholder expectations.

• Partner and collaborate with the Engineering Manager and Technical Leads on the Content Access Platform team to align on the product and technical plan the team executes against.

• Make time to connect with key stakeholders virtually in Los Angeles, CA every week during US operating hours.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience.

• 5+ years of relevant industry experience, preferable on technical product teams that built tooling for services and APIs.

• Understand API-based products, how they power the player experience, and how developer experience influences customer satisfaction.

• Excellent team leadership, ability to refine technical product vision.

• Understand operational and development challenges and conflict resolution techniques.

• Hands-on experience leading agile (scrum) teams.

• Familiarity with inventory, battle pass, missions, store, and loot systems in the game industry.

• Background in development of cloud based services, operations, or infrastructure and with knowledge of the space in data science and machine learning.

• Understand product management and how to navigate around constraints while finding balanced solutions.

• Ability to work non-standard hours including evening hours to overlap with Los Angeles, CA timezone
