Job Summary
Lunar Animation is seeking a 3D Modelling and Texture Artist with a strong understanding of industry standards and techniques for a studio-based, full-time position. The role involves creating various assets using hard surface and sculpted techniques, primarily for cartoon-stylised pieces. The ideal candidate will be responsible, meet deadlines, and be passionate about their work, ensuring all assets are technically and artistically suitable and integrated into the pipeline.
Must Have
- Create assets that are suitable, both technically and artistically
- Accurately integrate assets into the pipeline
- Ensure all work meets set specifications for the project
- Manage feedback and technical challenges
- Clearly and regularly communicate with production management
- Work with the department lead to improve tools and processes, to increase productivity
- Ability to model, texture, and shade
- In-depth understanding of Maya and/or Modo for modelling
- Knowledge of Substance Painter or other 3D texturing software
- Basic understanding of Lighting and Look Development
- Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team
- Ability to adapt to new processes and pipelines
Good to Have
- Basic rigging skills
- VRay experience

The ideal candidate will have the ability to tackle different types of assets using both hard surface and sculpted techniques. As you will be primarily working on cartoon-stylised pieces, a portfolio demonstrating similar styles is an advantage.
The role is full-time, and we are looking for a candidate who can take on responsibility, stick to deadlines, and have a passion for creating their best work every day.
