Responsabilités :

  • Assister le directeur artistique dans la réalisation de notre guide de style artistique et maintenir la vision au sein de l'équipe.
  • Définir les normes pour l'art de l'environnement et aider l'artiste principal et le directeur artistique à fournir un retour d'information.
  • Collaborer avec tous les autres départements dans le cadre de notre approche interdisciplinaire afin de garantir la meilleure qualité visuelle, l'optimisation et le meilleur pipeline tout au long de la production.
  • Diriger entièrement l'environnement de la carte et coordonner avec les artistes de soutien pour le mener à bien. 
  • Documenter et partager vos connaissances souvent et librement avec les autres membres de l'équipe.
  • Travailler avec l'artiste principal pour suggérer des solutions artistiques et techniques afin d'améliorer la qualité.
  • Mettre en place des actifs sur lesquels travailleront d'autres artistes et l'externalisation.
  • Agir en tant que modèle, dont l'attitude positive et le dynamisme aident les autres à réussir.
  • Encadrer les artistes moins expérimentés.

Qualifications

  • Plus de 10 ans d'expérience en tant qu'artiste de l'environnement ou équivalent avec un moteur de jeu AAA.
  • Expérience dans le cycle complet de développement d'un jeu (de la pré-production à la livraison) en travaillant sur des cartes et des lieux.
  • Portfolio complet qui met en valeur vos compétences et votre passion pour la construction du monde.
  • Ouverture d'esprit pour essayer de nouvelles choses et explorer différents styles.
  • Solide compréhension de la construction d'un monde
  • Connaissance des outils et flux de travail standards de l'industrie, tels que 3ds Max/Maya,
  • Substance, Zbrush et Photoshop
  • Esprit d'entreprise qui vous motive à faire avancer les choses dans un nouveau studio et la volonté de faire mieux.
  • Expérience dans l'utilisation d'Unreal Engine pour le développement de jeux.

Principal Environment Artist (Map)

Job description 

NetEase Games Montréal, ThunderFire Group of NetEase Games - is one of the leading developers and publishers in the gaming industry. Focused on delivering the best quality gaming experience on console, PC and mobile to international markets, we warmly seek collaboration with talent around the world to produce masterpieces through innovation and inspiration.

Our team in Montreal is growing and we are looking for a Principal Environment Artist (Map) to help us lay the groundwork for our original project and set the technical and artistic benchmarks in Unreal 5!

You will collaborate closely with the Art Director to establish our Art Style Guide - create and explore exciting world autonomously.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Art Director to realize our Art Style Guide and maintain the vision within the team
  • Set the standards for Environment Art and assist the Lead Artist and Art Director in providing feedback
  • Collaborate with all other departments in our cross-discipline approach to ensure we maintain the highest visual quality, optimization and the best pipeline throughout production
  • Fully drive the Map Environment and coordinate with the support artists to bring it to completion 
  • Document and share your knowledge often and freely with other members of the team
  • Work with the Lead Artist to suggest artistic and technical solutions to achieve quality improvements.
  • Setup assets to be worked on by other artists and outsourcing
  • Act as a role model, who's positive attitude and drive help others succeed
  • Mentor less experienced Artists.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience as an Environment Artist or equivalent with a AAA game engine.
  • Experience in full game development cycle (Pre-Production to Shipped) working on Maps/Locations
  • Extensive Portfolio that showcases your skill and passion for the world building.
  • Openness to try new things and explore different styles
  • Solid understanding of World Building
  • Knowledge of industry standard tools and workflows, such as 3ds Max/Maya,
    Substance, Zbrush and Photoshop
  • Entrepreneurial spirit that motivates you to move the needle forward in a fresh studio and the drive to do things better
  • Experience in using Unreal Engine for Game Development
