Job Description

NetEase's Canada IT team seeks an Infrastructure Engineer to design and maintain the network infrastructure supporting game development and operations. Responsibilities include configuring network equipment (routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers), implementing network security measures, monitoring performance, troubleshooting issues, and collaborating with development teams. The role requires expertise in network protocols, security best practices, and load balancing, along with strong analytical and problem-solving skills. The ideal candidate will have experience in high-traffic digital environments, preferably gaming.
Must have:

  • Network protocols (TCP/IP, UDP)
  • Firewall, VPN, security expertise
  • Troubleshooting complex issues

  • CCNP, NSE certifications

Job Overview
As a key team member in our Canada IT crew, the Infrastructure Engineer will build and maintain the digital backbone that keeps our game studios and teams connected. You'll be the mastermind behind our network infrastructure, making sure our developers and staff have the fast, reliable connections they need to create amazing games without technical hiccups slowing them down.
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Design and maintain robust network architectures that support game development, testing, and operational efficiencies
  • Configure and optimize network equipment including routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers to ensure minimal latency
  • Implement and manage network security measures to protect game assets and data from threats and vulnerabilities
  • Monitor network performance and troubleshoot complex network issues to minimize downtime and disruption to our teams
  • Maintain existing on-premise and cloud servers
  • Collaborate with game development teams to address network-related challenges
  • Establish and maintain network documentation, diagrams, and standard operating procedures
  • Perform capacity planning and bandwidth management to ensure optimal network performance for development and office environments
  • Implement disaster recovery protocols and redundancy systems to ensure business continuity
  • Research and evaluate emerging network technologies
  • Provide technical guidance on network-related tasks or projects
  • Coordinate with third-party service providers where applicable
Essential Qualifications
  • 3+ years of proven experience in network engineering, preferably in gaming or high-traffic digital environments
  • Proficient in configuring and managing enterprise-grade network equipment (Cisco, Fortigate, etc.)
  • Strong understanding of network protocols (TCP/IP, UDP, DNS, DHCP, HTTP/S)
  • Experience with firewalls, VPNs, and network security best practices
  • Knowledge of load balancing technologies and content delivery networks (CDNs)
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to resolve complex network issues
  • Effective communication and organizational skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Proficiency in French, English and Chinese (preferred)
Preferred Qualifications
  • CCNP, NSE or equivalent network certifications
  • Familiarity with cloud networking concepts (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
  • Experience with software-defined networking (SDN) and network automation tools
  • Knowledge of QoS implementation for real-time applications
  • Familiarity with monitoring tools like PRTG, SolarWinds, or Grafana
  • Understanding of low-latency network optimization techniques

Aperçu du poste

En tant que membre clé de notre équipe informatique au Canada, l'Ingénieur Infrastructure sera responsable de la conception et de la maintenance de l’infrastructure numérique qui assure la connectivité de nos studios de jeux et de nos équipes. Vous serez l’architecte de notre infrastructure réseau, garantissant que nos développeurs et employés disposent de connexions rapides et fiables pour créer des jeux exceptionnels sans être ralentis par des problèmes techniques.

Responsabilités principales

  • Concevoir et maintenir des architectures réseau robustes pour le développement, les tests et l’exploitation des jeux
  • Configurer et optimiser les équipements réseau (routeurs, commutateurs, pare-feu, équilibreurs de charge) pour assurer une latence minimale
  • Mettre en place et gérer des mesures de sécurité réseau pour protéger les données et les actifs des jeux contre les menaces et vulnérabilités
  • Surveiller la performance du réseau et résoudre les problèmes complexes afin de minimiser les interruptions pour les équipes
  • Gérer et entretenir des serveurs sur site et dans le cloud
  • Collaborer avec les équipes de développement pour répondre aux défis liés au réseau
  • Établir et mettre à jour la documentation réseau, y compris les schémas et les procédures opérationnelles standard
  • Effectuer une planification de capacité et une gestion de la bande passante pour garantir une performance optimale du réseau
  • Implémenter des protocoles de récupération après sinistre et des systèmes redondants pour assurer la continuité des activités
  • Rechercher et évaluer de nouvelles technologies réseau
  • Fournir une expertise technique sur les projets liés au réseau
  • Coordonner avec les fournisseurs de services externes, lorsque nécessaire

Qualifications essentielles

  • 3+ ans d’expérience en ingénierie réseau, de préférence dans l’industrie du jeu vidéo ou des environnements numériques à fort trafic
  • Maîtrise de la configuration et de la gestion des équipements réseau professionnels (Cisco, Fortigate, etc.)
  • Solide compréhension des protocoles réseau (TCP/IP, UDP, DNS, DHCP, HTTP/S)
  • Expérience avec les pare-feu, VPNs et bonnes pratiques en cybersécurité
  • Connaissance des technologies d’équilibrage de charge et des réseaux de distribution de contenu (CDN)
  • Excellentes compétences en dépannage et résolution de problèmes complexes
  • Bonne capacité de communication et sens de l’organisation
  • Solides compétences analytiques et de résolution de problèmes
  • Maîtrise du français et de l’anglais requise ; la connaissance du chinois est un atout

Qualifications préférées

  • Certifications réseau (CCNP, NSE ou équivalent)
  • Familiarité avec les concepts de mise en réseau cloud (AWS, Azure, GCP)
