Senior Environment Artist

Barnstorm VFX is seeking a Senior Environment Artist to join our Vancouver or Montreal team. 

Responsibilities:

• Integration and layout of real-time assets based on concept design and/or photographic reference
• Integration and/or layout of scene cameras using real-world specifications
• Creation or modification of procedural environment shaders
• Environment lighting and look development using both dynamic and baked lighting workflows
• Creation of both still and in-motion beauty renders from within the scene environment

Requirements:

• A portfolio demonstrating the ability to execute look development and lighting on a diverse range of environments.
• A good understanding of physically-based shaders and the ability to achieve the desired surface qualities across a variety of environment assets. 
• Experience assembling and lighting environments
• An understanding of lighting, rendering, and render post-processes 
• Ability to work collaboratively, with strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong understanding of proportions, scale, and surface properties.
• Knowledge of virtual production integration for film and television is a plus.
• At least 3 years of practical experience focused on layout, composition, and lighting.
• Bachelor’s Degree in VFX or related field
