Job Summary
eBay is seeking an experienced Category Manager for its growing eBay Live program. This role involves working closely with sellers to help them succeed on the new live selling platform, achieve GMV targets, and advocate for their needs. The manager will also be responsible for understanding platform changes and contributing to building a scalable program.
Must Have
- Create data-driven analyses and apply market expertise to achieve category GMV targets.
- Develop positive relationships with strategic sellers to expand program design and attract new sellers.
- Guide sellers through the onboarding process, identify issues, and develop processes, tools, and workarounds.
- Understand success factors on the eBay Live platform and support your seller portfolio accordingly (assortment, live host, production, sales formats, marketing).
- Work closely with core categories to drive seller success.
- Experience with and interest in live selling formats.
- Category Management experience, preferably in Collectibles and Fashion.
- Deep understanding of our platform.
- Experience and skills in project management, data analysis, growth strategy, organization, and partner acquisition.
- Strong oral and written communication skills in German and English.
- Emotional intelligence in dealing with customers.
- Willingness and ability to travel to support events, including weekends.

eBay Live is a new way of selling on eBay where sellers and buyers interact live via video. eBay sellers build trust with buyers, expand their customer base, and increase repeat business through consistent and engaging live streams on eBay Live. eBay buyers can watch, chat, ask questions, give feedback, bid, and buy online during live sales on eBay Live.
We are looking for an experienced Category Manager who can join this exciting, growing program and play a crucial role in its scaling and success. You will work closely with our sellers to help them succeed on this new platform and achieve their GMV targets. You will also be responsible for advocating for your sellers, understanding our platform and the necessary changes, and helping us build a program that scales.
Your Responsibilities:
