The Customs Specialist Coordinator is responsible for overseeing and coordinating customs operations to ensure compliance with current regulations, efficiency in import and export processes, customer satisfaction, and KPI delivery. This role serves as a key link between the client, customs authorities, and various company departments.

  • Experience managing a team of at least 10 people.
Must Have:
  • Oversee and coordinate customs operations.
  • Ensure compliance with current regulations and process efficiency.
  • Coordinate implementation for new customs agency accounts.
  • Manage a team of customs specialists.
  • Maintain communication with clients and customs authorities.
  • Manage operational incidents with regulatory entities (SUNAT, SENASA, DIGESA, SANIPES).
  • Support audits and compliance reporting.
  • Professional degree in Foreign Trade, International Business, Administration, or related fields.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a customs agency.
  • Updated knowledge of customs legislation, import/export regimes, trade agreements, and tariff classification.
  • Proficiency in SINTAD, VUCE, and other relevant systems.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.

The Sector Coordinator is responsible for supervising and coordinating customs operations to ensure compliance with current regulations, efficiency in import and export processes, customer satisfaction, and KPI delivery. This role is the key link between the client, customs authorities, and the different departments of the company.

Main Functions:

  • Coordinate the implementation for the start of operations of new customs agency accounts.
  • Participate in the preparation and review of SOPs for the agency's main clients; in the case of regular clients, preparation and review of client profiles.
  • Coordinate and supervise the customs clearance of goods, ensuring compliance with customs agency standards.
  • Manage the team of specialists, assigning accounts and reviewing team productivity.
  • Follow up on files, release times, and regularization processes.
  • Maintain fluid communication with internal or external clients, providing timely attention and advice on customs matters.
  • Manage operational incidents with entities such as SUNAT, SENASA, DIGESA, SANIPES, among others.
  • Support audits, internal reviews, and compliance reports.
  • Promote continuous improvements in operational and documentary processes (account maintenance).

Position Requirements:

  • Technical or university professional in Foreign Trade, International Business, Administration, or related careers.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in similar positions within a customs agency.
  • Team management, desirable minimum 10 people under their charge.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of customs legislation, import/export regimes, trade agreements, and tariff classification.
  • Proficiency in computer systems such as SINTAD, VUCE, among others.
  • Leadership, organizational, problem-solving skills, and ability to work under pressure.
  • Experience managing at least 500 monthly customs declarations.
  • Mandatory intermediate Office suite proficiency, desirable Power BI proficiency.
  • Desirable intermediate English proficiency (technical reading).
